End of chapter 20 "Were not letting this go". Start of chapter 21. Complete change of scenery. Never mentioned again. She's got constant killer headaches. Huge thing for 1 scene. Never mentioned again. Huge reference to Hoax telling mystery story about blueberries. Two references to it. No idea what about the blueberries. Huge, drawn out story about Hoax, bread and rice. Never mentioned again. And honestly, not plausible with his career. Again, Lani Lynn Vale disappoints because she won't take the time. Or someone is holding her to 170 pages only. Beyond frustrating.

My Bad is everything you'd want in a LLV book. It's full of sassy women....Overprotective alpha men....and laugh out loud antics by all. The difference with this book is that is was super sweet. Hoax and Pru were absolutely adorable together. There never was a moment that they didn't show each other that they loved each other. I'm am loving that the next generation is getting their own books. Can't wait for the next book! Reviewed by: Heather S.

MY BAD was hilarious! The bathroom scene alone was enough to make the book epic, but the birds!!!!! Holy moly were they the freaking funny. And I can’t say enough about Bacon. EPIC! One thing that I really l loved about this book was that it didn’t have as much angst as the other books in this series. Yes, there was danger and intrigue … which made the book awesome … but I didn’t go through the emotional ringer that I did with the others. And that was a nice reprieve to me. Pru and Hoax just made this book so much fun. The way that they played off each other was very enjoyable. Hoax has been somewhat of a dark horse in the other books. We know that there is something about him that he is hiding and I definitely understand now why. But it isn’t a bad thing, but it does bring make his alpha male moments even more epic!! Overall, well written and engaging. I loved the characters and the situations that they found themselves in. There is a certain someone that needs to have a throat punch moment, but I am really more intrigued by Bayou! OMG is his story going to be AMAZING! Seeing some of the older characters was really enjoyable (love my Silas!!) and made me smile huge. I do believe that Hoax may actually be close to knocking Silas off his pedestal in this one. Happy reading!!

4 1/2 STARS! Hot, steamy and oh so fun! Heading back to Bear Bottom, Texas for the next Guardians MC book is always a pleasure! We met Hoax in a previous book, and now it’s time to continue his story. He is an all around good guy and it’s super sexy to see him fall head over heels for Pru. Looking forward to more in the series! Delta Force operative Hoax Hicks knows the minute that he sees her that she’s going to be his. What he doesn’t know, is that she’s going to change him and make him want to stick around instead of hit it and run like has always been his motto. It’s terrible timing … but he’ll do anything to make it work. ER nurse Pru Mackenzie feels like she’s been struck by lightening the day she meets Hoax at the hospital. She’s been burned one too many times by a military guy in the past, so there’s no way she’s dating this guy … but he’s hotness personified and way too hard to resist! By the time he ships out again, they’re in love and not afraid to shout it off the rooftops … but will the little surprise he leaves behind change anything?

Hoax Hicks is home recovering from an injury when he meets nurse, Pru MacKenzie. He takes one look at her and the reason for his visit is instantly cured. Pru doesn't want a relationship with a military man due to her own experiences. They both know their time is limit and decide to make the most of it. These two have some serious chemistry. When Pru has situation and he is away on duty he pulls in protection for his lady and when that situation blows ups in the end.....he shows just how alpha he can be. Swoon worthy! My Bad is book 4 in Lane Lynn Vale's The Bear Bottom Guardian MC Series but what is great about the way this author writes is that you don't have to read the whole series to follow along with this book. Though, personally I highly recommend the series. The only caution I have is that when you start this book you allow yourself some time because once you start it you will not be able to put it down. I read it straight through because I just couldn't let it go.

Loved Hoax and Pru's book. A fitting story for a daughter of Sam and Cheyenne, who started it all. Can't wait to read about Phoebe and Bayou, plus is going to end up with Piper. Loving the Bear Bottom boys.

My Bad is one of my favorite of all Lani Lynn Vale books; it encompasses all aspects of Vale’s writing style and character development that I’ve loved in all of her other stories - the overprotective alpha male, a band of brothers who would lay down their lives for their friends and family, a sassy and stubborn heroine who does’t she herself as others do and finds her foot in her mouth more often than not, an abundance of outrageously funny and suspenseful moments as well as a supporting cast of characters who understand the meaning of friendship and family and prove that fact by refusing to let them down. The first scene in My Bad is definitely an interesting one, and while I found myself a bit uncomfortable due to Hoax’s ‘situation,’ I also think it speaks to just how ready he might be to find the woman he wants and needs and based on his ‘reaction’ to Nurse Pru, he’s found her…now he just needs to figure out how to keep her. Hoax and Pru must contend with quite a few obstacles throughout My Bad’s story line, which means as Hoax works to bring down Pru’s barriers, proving he is not just another typical military man, he also has to deal with his recovery from his accident, his impending deployment, his ‘family’ members’ opinion of Pru, as well as the volatile and unsafe working conditions that Pru has to endure in order to keep the job she loves. Any one of these situations would be difficult to deal with on its own, so the fact that there are so many variables to overcome places more than a little pressure on Hoax and Pru’s new relationship and with how skittish Pru seems to be, it’s more than clear that Hoax has his work cut out for him…I guess it’s a good thing then that he’s used to working hard and fighting against impossible odds as a Delta Force and Bear Bottom Guardians’ member. So, with his brothers at his back and Hoax’s fierce determination and commitment to claim Pru as his own, there’s nothing he won’t do to prove the kind of man he is to Pru, her family, and himself, especially since this is the first time he’s ever wanted more than one night with a woman, which means that the visceral reaction he has to her from the very beginning is a huge indicator of what Pru will come to mean to this military and motorcycle man. Hoax and Pru’s story is an entertaining, dramatic, and steamy read that proves that not all men or women are cut from the same cloth and with that knowledge in mind, Hoax and Pru move rather quickly when it comes to what they grow to mean to one another and just how off balance both of them are when the other is not around. Hoax is definitely a keeper and I’m so glad Pru realized that fairly early on so they could fight together as a team instead of against each other, making everything they face not necessarily easier but at least doable with them standing by one another’s side. 4.5 Poison Apples

There is so much I could say about this book, but I don't want to give anything away! This book is connected to several of the series by LLV, but mostly in a peripheral way. Hoax has close ties to the Bear Bottom Guardians, but leads a nomadic lifestyle. He is military, with no real home base. He lives life as it comes, taking it day to day, until a trip to the ER for an embarrassing condition leads to a life changing meeting. There is an instant connection, and even though she doesn't want to get involved with someone in the military, he knows what he wants. Surprises are plentiful in this book, including some I never saw coming! I love Hoax! He is patient, determined, and totally Alpha, which is exactly what she needs! I loved visiting with friends from previous books, as well as meeting new characters. This book focuses a little more on the military aspect of this life, instead of the MC focus of previous books, but there is just as much action and suspense, which I loved! The chemistry and heat between the main characters was amazing, and I loved how comfortable they were with each other! This was a great addition to the Bear Bottom Guardians MC, as well as the LLV world as a whole!

The book was good but these books are beginning to all sound alike with just a few changes in scenes and names. Also bothered me that it was point in the book that he only had the one tatoo but on the cover he has lots. May not bother most but I like my covers to look like the man in the book!!
