Overview

My Friend Michael: An Ordinary Friendship with an Extraordinary Man by Frank Cascio

Frank Cascio was a close friend of tragic superstar Michael Jackson for more than twenty-five years. In My Friend Michael, Cascio offers a deeply personal, behind-the-scenes look at the Michael Jackson he knew. Filled with never-before-told stories and intimate details, My Friend Michael is the most candid, moving, and provocative portrait of the “King of Pop” to date—a fair and loving portrait of a true American pop music icon and of a remarkable friendship that endured through triumph and struggle, scandal and controversy.

Frank Cascio is an entrepreneur whose expertise ranges from business finance to music entertainment. His friendship with Michael Jackson began in 1984, when Frank was just a few years old. At the age of eighteen Frank was hired by Jackson to be his personal assistant, eventually being promoted to personal manager. Cascio was a producer of The Michael Jackson Interview: The Footage You Were Never Meant to See as well as the creative consultant and one of the producers of Michael Jackson’s Private Home Movies, which aired on Fox in 2003. This is an excellent read and gives the reader a truly inside look at who Michael Jackson was as a person despite the dehumanizing and bullying tactics of the tabloid media over the past 3 decades. Highly recommended!

This book is the most amazing book I have ever read about Michael Jackson! !I hate to read but when I picked this book up to read it I could not put it down!If all books were like this book then I would enjoy reading!Usually I am lost by the first page to a book and put it down bored but not this book! I can say that no book has ever had me that drawn to reading before! The author Frank Cascio is absolutely amazing as a writer as I am sure he is amazing at other things as well but I must say that every sentence that I read I felt like I was actually there with Frank and Michael! Never before in my life have I ever felt like I was there in the story listening and sharing all things that this book opens up to share with you! There were sad parts, happy parts, hilarious parts when Michael missed the boat at Paris Disneyland while sneaking in after hrs. and falls in the water!I actually could see Michael standing there drenched in his pajama pants and floating fedora as I laughed uncontrollably! This is a amazingly great and well written book that I highly and completely reccommend for anyone who loves Michael Jackson and wants to read something worth reading that is positive toward Michael !I give this book a 10 star rating as it is superb!
