About the Author

Kim Crockett-Corson gathers much inspiration, laughter and joy from her preschool students and her delightfully lively daughter who sees the world with fresh, innocent eyes. She explains: "Does this sound familiar to anyone? An energetic and independent little girl is determined to get ready for school all by herself — while her parents fumble to get her through the morning ritual with minimal chaos? It sure is familiar to me: the inspiration came from my experiences with my daughter, who almost always wants to do everything by herself — even if the result is incorrect, incomplete or worse yet...a downright fiasco. I wrote MY GOOD MORNING as a humorous story for all parents who have lived through these frenzied morning struggles." A native of Raleigh, North Carolina and an alumnus of N.C. State Universitywith a Bachelor of Science degree in Parks, Recreation & Tourism Management, Kim lives in Atlanta, GA.

Jelena Brezovec (1980) was born in Varaždin, Croatia. She studied sociology and croatology at the University of Zagreb, and worked in these disciplines for a few years. For a long time, drawing was just a hobby of hers. But this changed in 2008, when she co-founded Evenio, a company specialized in online, print and digital publishing for children. Today, she works in this firm as an illustrator and a creative editor on projects such as activity books, picture books, mobile applications, digital books and handbooks. Jelena’s work has been featured in various international exhibitions, and her personalized picture book Dance Recital won a National Indie Excellence Book Award in the category Specialty Books.
