My Life As A Grom

There is a "new breed" of female caregivers emerging in today's world. They are the grandmothers who are serving as a mom to a grandchild because of the loss of that child's birth mother in everyday life. The loss may be due to incarceration, illness, or death. Whatever the cause, the result is the same; a grandmother is once again a mother. Today's term for this grandma/mom is "grom".
