Overview

Nate's Fated Mate by Donna McDonald

After a hundred years and four other wives, he should have been over her.

There are two things in life Admiral Nathaniel Tiberius knows how to do well. He knows how to fly his freaking airship and how to run the Alien Abduction Services. What he doesn't know is how to get over Dr. Sheena MacNamara, the most contrary female he'd ever been married to.

What is it going to take if a hundred years without seeing Sheena hasn't changed anything between them? Dealing with her is enough to drive any man insane.

And don't get him started on Angus and Erin interfering in his life. The Universe 6 matchmakers have been nothing but trouble since they arrived. They want to change everything. As far as Nate is concerned, no changes are needed. The abduction program has existed for hundreds of years and it's just fine like it is.

And so was his life. Nate likes things calm... and peaceful. Predictable outcomes suit him. Or they had until he realizes Sheena MacNamara will soon be walking out of his life again.

Letting her go didn't work out last time he did it. This time... this time he has to stop her. Nate can't bear the thought of losing her again.

I was given an Advanced Review Copy, by the author, in return for a honest review. This is the second novel in the Aliens In Kilts series, and I thoroughly enjoyed it as much as the first. Great plot and characters. You really get pulled into their relationship. I also love this author's take on aliens and intergalactic bridal programs. It's a different concept from other novels and that really makes the storyline new, fresh. To me this space, time travel romance is a must read! - Sarah

McDonald has created a world in need of matchmakers. Abduction 1 in this series introduces Angus and Erin who are needed to make a happily ever after between alien and humans. Angus is a unique character in a kilt and so the title for the series. As the head of the the matchmaker airship Admiral Nate Tiberius is set to welcome his ex-wife Sheena McNamara. Sheena is a genetic scientist on a mission to retrieve her sister Brianna. Although the friction between Sheena and Nate gets heated; this installments just does not have the creativity and intensity that was present in the previous book. Still wanting to continue reading the next part that will feature Brianna and alien Darcone. Since the ship is now equipped with a pair of kilt tailors; Angus plans to show off aliens in plaid. "A copy of this book was provided by author with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read and my comments here are my honest opinion."

Poor Nate. That’s it. That’s all I can say without spoilers. That’s pretty mean of me however I CAN say that I’m on Team Nate! Not sure where to begin with the quirkiness, tongue-in-cheek, hilarious book two of the Aliens In Kilts series. Nate’s Fated Mate jumps right back into the crazy mixed up world of aliens and alternate universes. Engaging, funny, and often hilarious, as I have read book 1 as well, I am rooting for Nate and Darcone in this story. You’ll have to read NFM for yourself to get the reference. Sheena, Nate’s ‘fated’ mate, is a bit too… I love strong heroines but sometimes I just wanted her to give Nate – and others that surround these folks – a bit of a break. She was very intense. Together, she and Nate just work; Sheena is the very right person to give Nate the comeuppance he deserves. Along with Darcone and Angus, of course! I really liked this book, love the series and the premise (and the sarcasm) and I recommend.

Fun fare for those who like quirky sci-fi adventures! This book takes us to a future in which much has changed. Biology is different. Aliens are being interacted with. Peace between aliens and New Earth humans is being kept, at least partially, by finding human female mates for the aliens to take home with them (and that was told about in book one of the series). There are bad guys to thwart. And, there is a couple that has always been fated to be together and is given a second chance to make it work. Nate and Shereen are opposites but the chemistry between then unflagging. The truths that Nate won’t share and the ones being kept from him are at least partially brought to light before the book ends. This was a delight to read…couldn’t put it down once I started reading yesterday! I would like to find out what women some of the aliens end up with and am hopeful more of those stories will be told in the future books of the series. I do believe (and hope) that alien Darcone will meet his match in book three and am thinking Bri might be his fated mate…maybe. If so, their dance will be a LOT of fun to read, too! At the very end of this book mention was made of aliens in kilts and a highland games event run by Angus – I CAN’T miss that ;) Thank you to the author for the ARC – this is my honest review.
