So in love with Janie and Quinn. I feel as if they are real characters. Ms Reid . You have done a great job once again with these characters. Can't wait to read more about Janie and Quinn very soon.

Quinn and Janie's story continues in this 2nd book in the Knitting in the City series. We also get to know their friends and family in more detail. Quinn is wanting a more permanent commitment from Janie. She is gun shy due to her past, and this makes for more marital hijinx. Quinn proposes to Janie and she has a bit of confusion. Why does he want to marry her? How can he know how long they will be together? What if it does not last? She is full of scenarios in her head. Janie cannot see them getting engaged this early in their relationship. She was thinking after a couple years or so. Quinn wants her to be his. He is wanting her to show she will be with him always. Janie comes from a family that is pretty messed up and is afraid to make this kind of commitment. They end up making a deal of sorts and working through as much as they can. Part of this deal is to meet each others families, parents, friends, etc. The character development is amazing and the humor is really good! I did not think that the author could top the first book in the series - but she did! I was happily reading and crying and loving every minute. I think this is a series all romance readers should have on their shelves. Makes a great gift!

A cute read and better then book #1, but not my favorite series. I was a bit disapointed! I felt as soon as the steamy parts got good, they ended too quickly an not enough emotion or detail with Quinn or Janie. Too much Janie andnot enough Quinn. I did enjoy his charaicter from ime to time. Thought it would be bit more of romance or Rom Com, but found it kind of an annoying mess. To each their own, but I couldn't wait fir it to be over and done with! Not reading anymore in this series.

I rarely read a book where I laugh out loud. Some snickers, but not out loud. This one and it's original are Hilarious. Great characters. I cried a little. Laughed a lot and just really wanted to join their mixed up world. Chaos is the best word for it, but charming chaos. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Neanderthal Marries Human by Penny Reid (Audiobook) Narrated by: Sebastian York and Jennifer Grace Series: Knitting in the City 1.5 3.5 Stars - To be honest I completely skipped over this book and moved on to the second, thinking it was short novella/second epilogue kind of thing… it's not. It is a full length book. I came back to read it now, because I am OH so very much looking forward to Dan’s book release (March) and Ms. Reid mentioned that his book was for people who have read the entire series - if you haven't, you may not get the references.. so I wanted to make sure I hadn't missed anything. The book is very much more of Janie and her quirks. Quinn trying to get her to marry him, which, I was enjoying it until Janie started getting all “women's rights" on me. She doesn't like Quinn holding the door, pulling out her chair.. she doesn't like that she had the spa to herself because Quinn has money.. she doesn't like that she is getting “prepped" polished, plucked, pedicured etc. That things have to be done because of tradition… but then why is she even wanting her lazy lack-of-a-father to walk her down the aisle… because it's tradition… she says!! Ugh, talk about contradiction! that I have given a somewhat spoiler (sorry) and got that off my chest, the rest was quite good. I loved the Vegas scene read by Sebastian York! He made that scene come alive! It was funny and silly in perfect Penny Reid fashion, I loved the extra bits of Dan I got to see… YEAH!! And the lead up to Nico and Elizabeth's book. Jennifer Grace did a fantastic job narrating Janie. She spoke just like I would imagine Janie would. I am glad I went back and read this book and I can't wait till March!!! Dan’s book is gonna be good!! ~Paragraphs and Petticoats~

5 Stars for you Penny Reid for Janie and Quinn's stories. This is book 1.5 in the series and this needs to be read after Book 1, Neanderthal Seeks Human. I loved, loved, LOVED them!!! Janie is adorable, quirky and funny and Quinn is entranced by her. They made me laugh, along with the supporting characters and I even teared up a couple of times, but with happy and emotional tears. Kudos to you Penny Reid, I am now going to put all of your other books on my TBR list, ALL of them.

Janie and Quin's romance continues. The discover some things about themselves and their families they would not have discovered without the help of each other. A touching and comical look at relationships and love. Good read.

I found Janie's brainy, quirky character a delight to read. Her relartionship with Quinn was endearing. Many times I caught myself laughing outloud at something Janie would say and would think wow what a great guy Quinn has turned out to be. They work together complimenting each other. This is a book that I would recommend.

I reallt really love this book and the first book . supposedly the next sequel for Quinn and Janie story is Neanderthal seeks Honeymoon. Apparently it's not available yet even though it says Dec 2014. Well I hope it will be available soon. I love the two smarts together. I will keep reading about them. Ms. Reid is one classy author in my book. Please continue to write about Quinn and Janie and I will keep reading. Kudos to you.

I'm not sure I'll ever get enough of Janie and Quinn. I love Janie and all her quirkiness … the random thoughts that leave her mouth when she's nervous, self-conscious, hurt, etc … blow me away. I love how much Quinn enjoys these aspects of who she is, it makes her unique and totally lovable. Really, who decides to have a big wedding, even though you don't want one, just to put your relationship through the stress of planning the event? As this big day approaches, I loved getting to really understand Janie's family life and how it shaped who she is today. I also loved all the support Quinn and his family provides as she really embraces who she is and the life she has created for herself. Quinn's Dad blew me away and gave me a perfect "father-daughter" moment that I felt to my toes for Janie. Just WOW!

WOW!! I loved this story even more than the first book (and I really enjoyed that one!). Quinn & Janie were wonderful together and had some really special moments together. This is also a hilarious book ... I laughed so hard I couldn't even continue reading. And i cried really hard too. The author can totally flip you on a dime in this story. I've already recommended it to everyone. Excellent!!!!!!

Neanderthal Marries Human by Penny Reid is book 1.5 in her Knitting in the City series. It is a continuation of Quinn and Janie's story from book one, Neanderthal Seeks Human, and must be read only after you have read book one. I thought Janie & Quinn's story so far was phenomenal, this is the gourmet icing on top of the icing on the best cake ever. This book picks up where book one left off, and while it's numbered as an in-between book it is a full-length novel. Picking up the story where book one left off and continuing just past the wedding we get to learn about Quinn's parents, see more of his sister, the knitting circle and get closer to Quinn's secrets. An absolutely phenomenal book and series!

I had high expectations for Neanderthal Marries Human and they were met and exceeded. I'd like to thank all the fans of this series who pushed Penny to write more about Janie and Quinn and Penny for listening and giving us more of them to enjoy and love. I didn't think I could love this book more than I loved Neanderthal Seeks Human but this book is extra special. Allow me to explain. First of all, I've NEVER stopped reading and highlighted text in a book. Ever. I just don't do it. I'm usually to involved in the story for my brain to stop and register, "Oh, that'd make a great quote." or "I think other people would love this part!". Plus it's hard to pick one or two quotes everyone will connect with. What lights a spark in me may not light that same spark in you. So quotes are not something I do. However with this book I did. It's not because I wasn't 110% absorbed in the story, but so much of the book was so funny and I couldn't not make a note of it. Janie and Quinn are their fabulous selves and it was great to see them after a couple months gap. I must say Quinn has some of the most romantic lines ever. I totally did a mental swoon. More than once. Anyhow, it's funny because I understood where both Janie and Quinn were coming from regarding how they perceived their relationship and impending nuptials. I actually thought Janie's idea was brilliant regarding bad times. It's usually when we're tested we find out what we're really made of and out true stances. What's more stressful than planning a big wedding in a short amount of time? There were some new faces introduced and some familiar ones. I loved seeing the knitting group. It's always so much fun since they all have different personalities but love each other and knitting. I'm so glad each member will be getting their story told. I also loved meeting Quinn's sister and parents. I in particular was hoping for a complete resolution with everyone, but since some parts were left open, I'm hoping Penny maybe thinking of writing a third book featuring Quinn and Janie or maybe a book from his sister's point of view. I also love how Penny timed the book so it fell between Neanderthal Seeks Human and Friends Without Benefits. I also love how each book in this series, even this one can be read alone. However, I beg and implore you not to. You'd miss out on so much humor, romance, comedy, and action. I swear Penny's books are like crack. They're addictive, habit-forming, highly entertaining, and you're always left wanting more. In a short amount of time I've read all four of her available books and am eagerly awaiting more. In that same amount of time Penny has become a must read and must buy author for me. If you're unsure about how you'll like this book or any of Penny's books, please try a sample or feel free to ask me. I can't rave about this book and the others enough and really feel like these books are for everyone who loves romance and comedy. Since reading my first Penny Reid book, I'm always looking for more from her. I'm already missing some of my favorite people now that this book is over and I'm looking forward to the next book which is currently being written. I have no idea how I'll wait patiently especially after so much was revealed to me in the book, but I'm going to have to find a way! In the meantime I think I'll be re-visiting my favorite knitting group!

In September of 2013 I stumbled across this great book called Neanderthal Seeks Human by Penny Reid. The main character, Janie Morris, is a bit of a socially awkward geek. She has trouble making connections with people, but she manages to catch the eye and attention of Quinn Sullivan, head of a security company. When breaking up with her cheating boyfriend costs her her apartment and job, she goes to stay with her best friend, Elizabeth. It is through Elizabeth that we meet her Knitting Group. Janie becomes an honorary member, even though she doesn't knit. Each of the stories in the series covers one of the ladies in the knitting group. I gave the first book 4 stars and when book 2, Friends without Benefits came out, I found it equally delightful, yet totally different. I was all set up to read book 3, when I found out about Neanderthal Marries Human, the story of Janie and Quinn's courtship and marriage. When I heard there would be some Quinn POV, I all but jumped up and down thrilled to get inside this sexy mystery man. Janie continues to delight. We get a much deeper understanding of her family dynamics and how they shaped her into the person she is. We also get our first good look into Quinn. I must admit I really wasn't sure what to expect. He is both a little darker and a bit sweeter than I had imagined him. I thought there was much more growth as characters in this book for both Janie and Quinn. I am so glad I got a chance to see their continued journey together, and gave this 4 stars. Next up is Love Hacked, #3.

I love Jaine and Quinn and as much as I loved the first book I actually liked this one more. In this second book, we learn a lot more about Janie. Many people thought that her awkwardness meant that she was probably on the spectrum, but after reading this book you understand that she developed an escape and a way to deal with the crap in her life. We also learn more about Quinn, his background, and his family. He loves Janie fiercly and that was beautiful to see. I won't give anything away. I just want to say that if you liked the first book, you will love this one. I laughed, I cried, and I smiled. I highly recommend this book.

Penny Reid is high on my list of favorite new to me authors. She writes quirky characters that will have you howling with laughter. Warning do not read her books in public. In this follow up to Neanderthal Seeks Human we find out just how Quinn gets Janie to marry him. An unlikelier pair you can’t imagine but Penny Reid makes it work, makes it sing. I laughed so hard while reading this that I had to keep a box of tissues handy.

~Reviewed by SUZANNE & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog If you had spoken to me in April last year, the chances are that I would have been telling you about this fantastic book I had just read called Neanderthal Seeks Human by Penny Reid, it was funny, it was romantic, it had a fantastic heroine; I was gushing like a fountain. Now, although more (equally fantastic) books have come out in the series, I confess Neanderthal Marries Human had me more excited, I love Janie and Quinn and was excited to see them again and was cackling with glee when it changed from a novella to a full length novel. A full length novel that I devoured. Once again Penny Reid had me laughing like a loon, drooling and fanning myself, luckily not all at once…mostly. What I loved from Neanderthal Seeks Human was still very much present in this book; Janie’s weird and wonderful thought processes and random trivia, Quinn’s aloof hotness and devotion to Janie and all the funny bits in between. This book gave you a great opportunity to see Quinn and Janie together, normally once a couple’s book has finished the most you will see them is as secondary characters in someone else’s book. It was interesting to see that although they were the same characters I know and love, that they had also changed and evolved along with their relationship. Janie wasn’t quite as closed off to others and Quinn may have even smiled a little. But this book didn’t just focus on the romance, we got to see the knitting girls. These books are great as they don’t only focus on the love story, but recognise that friendship is important as well. Some of the girls have books of their own and I can’t wait for the rest of the crew to have their turn. This book left me in happy tears, it is funny, quirky and romantic and contains one of my favourite ever heroines, Janie Morris, my secret girl crush, so if you haven’t picked up this series yet, you need to now! *ARC provided by publisher
