I definitely enjoyed this book.

I knew this book was going to touch on the history of Poland and communism, and the Berlin Wall, but what I did not anticipate was that at least half of it would read MORE LIKE A TEXTBOOK on Poland's history!! I really really tried to read it all the way through as I try to give the author and the book a chance to "pull it together" for me; but the problem with Necessary Lies is that the author seems to forget half way through that she is writing a novel, not a non-fiction article on Poland. Finally, I just had to say " ENOUGH ALREADY ! " and put the book away... my time is valuable and there are other authors and their books waiting for me. SAVE YOUR MONEY !
