David Lehman's poems are many things.  They are smart, funny, ironic, cynical, Jewish and pithy to name just a few descriptors.   The poetry in this collection reveal a New York perspective and experience of life. This collection begins with a twist from your usual collection the newest come first and then move back in time ending with Lehman's late teens. Lehman clearly has a great command and respect for language and poetry.  His poems run the gamete of emotions and description.  A fine addition to anyone’s poetry collection.
