This Bible was provided to me free of charge for my honest review. Have you ever opened a study Bible, started flipping through it just to get an idea of the landscape – and realized you were holding a masterpiece? A masterpiece – in any sphere of activity – is something that draws you in, effortlessly, and invites you to stay awhile. And you do so, because you really don’t want to leave. That’s how I felt when I opened the NKJV KNOW THE WORD Study Bible. Replete with book introductions, Study the Book sidebars, scholarly footnotes that clear the cobwebs of confusion instead of exacerbating them, and in-text notes that transform this Bible into a veritable library. Along with the concordance (not exhaustive, but more than adequate!) and the Bible maps, this is a study Bible that emphasizes STUDY. In one volume one has a devotional Bible, a topical Bible, and a study Bible worthy of the name. Whether you want to explore the Bible book by book, verse by verse, or topic by topic, this is the Bible that you will find yourself reaching for time and again. I “cut my teeth” on the Thompson Chain Reference Bible, and still go to it regularly. This Bible is going to be right beside it from this point on. 5 stars for a study Bible that lives up to its name!

KNOW THE WORD STUDY BIBLE Gain A Greater Understanding of the Bible Published by Thomas Nelson This new study Bible offers you three different way to study God’s Word, Book by Book Verse by Verse Topic by Topic The Book by Book has a series of notes that leads you through the main points of each book. Verse by Verse is a series of notes that help you dig deep into each verse. Topic by Topic covers 21 theological topics giving you a thorough Biblical understanding of each topic. These methods are offered to enhance God’s Word to a deeper understanding. A section with notes about the book is given in each book to help you understand the points of the book.. Verse study is done in the usual way, a description of each verse at the bottom of the pages like most Bibles. Added to these are the topical studies throughout as the topic appears in the reading. All done in the NKJV, words of Jesus in red, a concordance, full color maps and easy to read type. A great addition to any library and I think a great help in your Bible Study, personal or with a group. A quote from the back cover; “Don’t settle for being a reader when you can be a student of God’s Word.” I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255

First, the disclaimer. "I was provided a free hardcover copy of this book. All opinions are my own." That done, the KNOW THE WORD STUDY BIBLE NKJV offers three different approaches to Bible study, as stated above. 1. Book by book, 2. Verse by verse, and 3. Topic by topic. I usually study topic by topic for my own study, though sometimes it is verse by verse and the adult Sunday School class I'm in studies Book by book so this will be invaluable in all different areas of my study. My preacher husband also expressed interest in this Bible. I found the study notes were good, but not as in-depth as some commentators, though that is to be expected since this is a Bible first and foremost. Book articles are scattered in the text and provide depth and insight to the topics included. I like that the words of Jesus are in red, and the font is readable, which is good for older adults. Not tiny like in some Bibles. If you are looking for something that will replace Bibles and commentators and book study guides, this is not it. However, it is excellent as a basic study Bible no matter which way you prefer to study. Pastors and professors will likely find it in adequate for sermon or lesson preparation. Depending on the Sunday school teacher (and how deep they get) this might or might not be adequate. Excellent gift idea. Recommended.

I received the NKJV Know the Word Study Bible free of charge as part of the BookLook Bloggers review program in exchange for an unbiased review of it.  This 1900-page Bible is published by Thomas Nelson Publishers and comes with a concordance and maps.  But there are other features, which I'll discuss here. Dimensions: The Bible measures approximately 8-3/4" x 5-3/4" x 1-3/8" and weighs maybe around 1 pound.  Not big, not heavy.  Perfect for carrying to/from school/work, etc. Topic-by-Topic articles are scattered throughout, but there is a nice index at the beginning of the Bible that directs the reader to what page a topical article can be found.  This comes in handy if a reader is looking to study a topic of his/her choosing at any particular time.  Otherwise, the reader can read the articles as they arrive while reading the biblical text.   Should the reader stumble across an article or word study that is of particular interest, there exists a footnote at the bottom of said article/note that directs the reader to either the next or the previous topical study.  The articles or word studies are not all that lengthy, but provide just enough to serve as fodder for deeper digging.  To go deeper, one would simply employ heavier tools like exhaustive concordances, systematic theology resources, etc.  I doubt this study Bible was intended to be the final resource on all study materials, but rather as a simple introduction and invitation for readers to go deeper into God's word. A nice 2-page feature exists following the last page of Malachi, and immediately preceding Matthew's gospel.  This section briefly outlines various eras of human history and some of the more significant events that took place until the arrival of the Messiah, Jesus.  Of course, this Bible comes equipped with the red letters for Jesus's words.  It's not a mandatory thing, but is helpful to the reader who thinks to him/her-self when trying to find a passage, "Jesus said such-and-such, so where would I find it?"  The red letters simply help narrow down one's searching. Finally, I've attached a photo of a pencil next to the type font so you can see just how small or large the print is for your liking.  There are decent (not huge) margins on the sides and bottoms of the pages for notes.  But if those areas are not enough, there are several pages with a lot of clean space for writing short notes. Rating: Overall, I give this Bible just 3 1/2 stars out of 5.  It is simple, but provides some helpful resources for study.  It wouldn't be my first choice of study Bibles, but it might be useful for new or young believers to whet their appetites for more of God's word. [Note:  This book was received free of charge from Thomas Nelson in exchange for an honest review.] I have many Bibles in my personal library, and many of them are study bibles.  The NKJV Know the Word Study Bible is similar in format and scope to others I own.  The study notes for the verses are helpful, and assist the reader in learning more about a particular passage. This particular study bible touts that one can learn the Bible book by book, verse by verse, or topic by topic.  As previously stated there are footnotes that assist the reader in understanding passages.  The book summaries at the beginning or a book are helpful as they give highlights of the book and the passages that correspond with it.  This Study Bible also has articles on 21 topics spread throughout the Bible, and each topic has 5-7 articles that correspond with it. Overall this Study Bible is much smaller than others that I own.  The notes it contains are not as detailed, and the topical articles are fairly short.  The paper is also a lot thinner than other Bibles I own.  This could be a concern for someone who is not using care when turning the page.  This study Bible is good for the new believer, or someone who is new to what study Bibles have to offer.
