Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi [moːɦənd̪aːs kərəmtɕənd̪ ɡaːnd̪ʱi] born 2 October 1869 – 30 January 1948) was a pre-eminent political and ideological leader of India during the Indian independence movement. He pioneered satyagraha.
