Not Quite Dead by Stephanie Rowe

"Rowe is a pararnomal star!" ~J.R. Ward

Is his missing brother dead, or not quite? Passion, loyalty, and betrayal plunge the deadly hunt into the Louisiana vampire underworld.

Haunted by a tragic past, Eric Hunter allows himself to care about nothing, except his brother. He will not stop until he finds him, even if it means teaming up with the bold, sensual woman who awakens in him the dark cravings he has denied for so long.

An ancient vampire has coveted Jordyn Leahy since she was a child, haunting her sleep, demanding her soul and her flesh. After decades of silence, he has returned to ruthlessly claim the woman who once denied him.

As the deep of night closes in, Jordyn and Eric must fight the battle of their lives, in a quest for survival in a world where hunger rules, desire destroys, and eternity means no second chances.

3.5 stars. My favorite part about this book was Jordyn. She was hilarious! She is so matter a fact and witty that most of what she says is quite funny. I haven't read dialogue like this ever and it was really entertaining. I loved that she knew exactly the kind of woman she was and what she could deal with in life. She had lots of tragedy in her in life but she still has hope in her heart. This lady is one stubborn and determined woman when she sets her mind to something and it was greatly appreciated as a reader to see such vigilance.  One of my favorite lines in the book that I thought was so funny: He glanced outside at the ground. He could smell how rich it was, almost as if it were calling to him.  Jordyn followed his glance. "Dirt? You want dirt?" I just thought this was so hilarious!  I didn't give it five stars because there were many parts in the book that were slow because they were both trying to figure out their own troubles and trying to get through turmoil with both of their crazy lives. I also thought there could have been more background story to Tristan and Jordyn's friendship. They had to be more close than meeting at a graveyard if he decided she needed to live multiple times. I needed more background story on the villain, how did he get so powerful? Was he always powerful? How did he get turned? Will we find any of this out in the next book?

Ever since Rowe introduced us to Jordyn Leahy and Eric Hunter in DARKNESS POSSESSED, I’ve wanted to read their story.  They were a side story in that book and in NOT QUITE DEAD they live up to every bit of promise of a hot, suspense-filled, uniquely told, paranormal masterpiece. Rowe has added her own twist to being paranormal especially what it means to be a vampire.  It’s so refreshing.  True to all Rowe’s books, the love story is touching and HOT.  Jordyn and Eric fight their attraction as hard as possible but their destiny cannot be avoided.  Rowe’s villains are well written.  Without providing any spoilers, let me say the characters were not predictable and surprising twists made the story more thrilling.  I’m anxious for the next installment in this highly imaginative series.

Stephanie Rowe has written another great story. This new series successfully transitions two characters from her Order of the Blade series into a different genre. In this book you catch up with, Jordyn Leahy, a strong, brave woman who survived a horrible tragedy and Eric Hunter, a cocky, sexy mystery of a "man" as they team up to search for his brother. During their journey they discover an ancient evil has been brought back to life and they discover their feelings for each other. Stephanie Rowe has written an amazing story that leaves you on the edge, waiting for what comes next. She combines action, suspense and romance to make for a great read. I couldn't put it down.

Not Quite Dead is a spin off from Stephanie Rowe's The Order of the Blade series. Eric Hunter is looking for his brother that has been missing. Jordyn Leahy may have been the last person to see his brother alive. Who is Jordyn and why did Eric's brother have a tie to her? Can Jordyn help Eric find his brother? Can Eric help Jordyn figure out why she seems to be tied to both brothers and why she has to protect herself from her nightmares. Edge of your seat reading!!

Definitely an author to follow... you should read all of her books, you will not be disappointed! Stephanie has such a knack for crafting all of her stories in such a vibrant, engaging and iluustrative manner which makes her plot and scenes jump out of the page (or screen!) which makes the books so enjoyable and addicting to read. Stephanie is TRULY my favorite author and this new series is a great spinoff from the Order of the Blade series.

Not Quite Dead is a spin-off from Ms Rowe’s Order of the Blade series as Jordyn Leahy was introduced there as a widowed Sheva and crossed paths with Eric Hunter in the same book. It was interesting catching up with this couple again, and partaking in their journey to find, and if need be rescue Eric’s missing brother who had previously saved Jordyn’s life on numerous occasions and who Eric has more than just your run of the mill sibling connection with. But things are not always as they seem; and while Jordyn surmises there is something unique about Eric that he chooses not to share, Eric is hell bent on protecting Jordyn from not only the evil that is stalking her, but from Eric himself. As with all of Ms Rowe’s PNR stories, there is an abundance of danger, intrigue and life-threatening encounters, with a healthy helping of sarcastic banter, sexual innuendo and hot and combustible chemistry to keep the readers thoroughly engrossed. I have no doubt this will become another success for Ms Rowe.

Stephanie Rowe has done it again. In her new series opener she leaves us breathless as we follow Jordyn and Eric on an amazing paranormal adventure (this time filled with Vampires like you've never seen them) that is as equally filled with love and romance. Something for everyone! If you want a read that draws you in and won't let you go, this is it. You will not be disappointed!

Stephanie rowe delves into a new genre - still incorporating characters from the Order, and she ROCKS It! You'll love Eric and Jordyn - they're a superdynamic couple who fight till the end. You won't be able to put it down!
