Ever Montgomery suffered the ultimate betrayal by the one man who she should have been able to count on for anything. It has left her hurt, jaded and incapable of forming relationships, but it also means that she can spot a liar a mile away. These traits are earning her a reputation as a reporter with a keen nose for a good story and a complete understanding of the extreme power of the written word.

Lincoln Caldwell, is the hot goalie for the New York Rangers. At twenty-four and a rising star, he works hard and he plays even harder. He's gorgeous and carefree--the ultimate charmer. Ladies fall at his feet and the single life has never been lived the way Linc Caldwell does it.

When Ever publishes an article about Linc containing information that she received off the record, she finds herself on the receiving end of the athlete's fury. Rather than basking in the glory of exposing Linc as a shameless user of women, she finds herself at his mercy when he demands and receives retribution. Required by her editor to trail Linc for six weeks, Ever is forced to look at the real Linc Caldwell.

And she just might find that she has misjudged him.

About the Author

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released more than 30 books and has been featured on both the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists on multiple occasions.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Mary's strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active toddler, as well as full-time servant to two adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or a combination of the two.

WOW!! This is my first book by this author. Exceptional writing. Loved the romance, the characters, and the plot. Male/female POV, about 570 pages, and HEA. Although, my NOOK had some issues in the epilogue (skipping pages). I loved this story, can't wait to get started on another by SAWYER BENNETT. I highly recommend this book. S.A.K.

I ?oved this book and the characters! I appreciated the many messages Ms. Bennett managed to slip into the story. And then the steamy, sexual scenes lent almost too much spice! That's ok, I couldn't put it down and I'm eagerly awaiting the next one!

I was somewhat aggravated with Ever. I understand she had a really big issue of trusting, but I believe she went just a little too far. Lincoln Caldwell is every woman's dream and they all want a piece of him. Hence, part of the trust issue. After Ever publishes a harsh article about him, he makes her spend 6 weeks attached to his hip so she can find out the "real" Lincoln Caldwell. Steamy romance. Love this series.

Reading this book made me go through every emotion possible. I laughed, got angry, smirked, and even cried. It was such a wonderful read. I am not much of a romance girl. But this one will turn me into one.

Another absolutely perfect love story by Sawyer Bennett. How can a hockey star with women falling all over him, find true love? Can a girl with a broken heart from her father leaving when she was 16 and a fiance cheating on her ever believe it love again? When Linc & Ever meet the physical attraction is strong and the both try to fight it. She thinks he is a man-whore and wants nothing to do with him. When she writes her article on Linc for the Post and he threatens to sue the paper and might get her fired. When he comes up with a plan for her to see the real man. Can she overcome her heartbroken past and move on and can Linc believe in love with Ever. I LOVED this one too.

4.5 stars Who here knows that I'm a sucker for athletes??? Yeah, it's true. I'm not ashamed. For that reason alone, I was excited for Linc's book. I typically fall for Baseball players, but Hockey players aren't far behind. That aside, I really liked getting to know Linc and Ever.  "Lickety" Linc Caldwell, as I like to call him, has been known to be a ladies man. But, even though he's been a bit of a player in the past, I felt the shift in him when he meets Ever. He was truly intrigued by her. She's different. She wasn't all that impressed by the fact that he was a star. Plus, it was easy for her to think the worst about him. Which is, ironically, what brings them together. I knew there was more to Linc though. After all, he is Nix's brother.  He really is a great guy.  Ever. Hmm. She's not an easily likable character. After she slams Linc, I had a hard time forgiving her and I knew her reasons why she felt the way she did. But, I figured if Linc could give her a second chance, I could too. I did understand where she was coming from. In fact, we had a few things in common. I was happy to see her let her guard down with Linc, finally. I think once she realized that he wouldn't intentionally hurt her, it became easy for me to like her. Plus, I think she had a lot of personal growth. I ended up really liking them as a couple. It worked.  Overall, I really enjoyed this one. The Caldwell boys are hard to resist. When they love, they love hard. Off the Record was sexy, romantic, and endearing. Honestly, if you haven't started this series, you truly are missing out. It's a favorite of mine and shouldn't be missed! Quotes: ~His body is unrealistically beautiful. He's all tanned skin and hard muscle...chiseled perfection. Hell, even his sweat was sexy.-Loc 861 ~"Because...he has the power to make me cry. one...makes me cry. Except for Linc Caldwell. That means he's reached something deeper than anyone else has ever touched before. That's how I know."-Loc 2373 ~"You have thirty seconds to take your clothes off and get into bed, or I'll do it for you."-Loc 2635

Lately I have been into sports themed books.  Don’t know what it is exactly, but they are my favorite thing!  I especially seem to love hockey books, which is funny cause I don’t even watch that many hockey games! So, when this one came along, I was excited…. for some reason, it seemed like just what I was looking for. A great romance and hockey mixed in. And I was right! Ever is excited when she first meets Linc, he seems like exactly the opposite of most athletes, almost too good to be true.  And then she catches him in what she thinks is exactly what she expects him to be doing, and, with admittedly, her feelings hurt, she writes a scathing article about it.  Linc decides to get his revenge and asks for Ever to be his assistant for the next six weeks, to learn about him and what he is really like, and right a true article about him.  As you can imagine, it doesn’t take long for those original sparks to start to fly, and well…. Yep, this one had a little bit of everything that I love in it.  Romance, sports, passion… and I do mean passion! Man did they get angry with each other! But at the same time, they would always seem to work it out.  I started in the middle of the series, but didn’t feel that I had missed anything doing that. That said, I would love to read some of the other books in the series, because I really enjoyed this one and would love to read more by this author.  I;ll have to look them up sometime. BTW, this one would make an EXCELLENT beach read!

Linc Caldwell is a hotshot for the New York Rangers with a long list of satisfied women trailing in his wake. Ever Montgomery is a journalist looking to make a name for herself. Linc and Ever have an instant and magnetic attraction that scorches the pages until Linc’s confession brings all of Ever’s past hurts back to haunt them. Sawyer has written another go-the-hell-away-and-leave-me-to-my-book read that you won’t want to put down. This story deals with forgiveness, self-discovery, and unconditional love. Oh, and some steamy sex that will make your eyes cross. I cannot wait to read the next book in the Off series!

"...when things happen that we don't expect, and when situations seem crazy and out of control, sometimes you need to just sit back and enjoy the experience. Some of life's greatest lessons will come from those times."   OH. MY. WORD. I am soooooo in love with this series. Ms. Sawyer is a true talent. Once I finally had my hands on this gem. I had to read it immediately. I stayed up waaaayyy past my bedtime. Honestly I was up until 1 in the morning reading. My alarm goes off at 5. I even received a few evil eyes from my hubby because he could see the light from my e-reader. Off the Record is told through a dual POV, which I believe I've said plenty of times I love so much The way the story unfolded. Everything felt so real. At times I found myself actually talking to my e-reader. Like a crazy lady.  Every character was relatable which made reading Off The Record more enjoyable. While Ryan and Danny were mentioned we didn't get much interaction from them, but Nix and Emily made up for that. The closeness of everyone reminds me of a real family.   Ever Montgomery has been hurt and broken by the men in her past that she loved. Now she has a wall around her heart and an extremely low tolerance for misunderstandings. It was a little touch and go with Ever for me because of her mistrust towards people she came off like a Bi-yah-itch, but as things progressed she grew on me. Eventually I understood where she was coming from.    For the record I'm not a hockey fan, but Linc Caldwell could quickly change that. Words cannot fathom how much I love this man. He's sexy, generious , gentle, but at the same time he's not a push over. Overall he's just mmmm mmmm mmmm goodness.   The attraction these two have for each other is more than hot!!! A few times I found myself getting butterflies. I could not get enough of these two.  Linc knew exactly what Ever needed in her whole and was more than willing to give it to her. I felt like the kid in the AT&T " I wanted more and more but there isn't anymore".   Ms, Sawyer has done more that a remarkable job with the entire Off Series and I am more than ecstatic to read more.Whether you're hockey fan or not you will absolutely fall In love with Off The Record. I am so thrill that I was lucky enough to find it myself. **Thank you, gracias, merci to the author/ publisher for providing me with an arc copy via AToMR tours in exchange for my honest opinion.** check out my blog at shawnasurvey at blogspot dot com
