On a Razor's Edge (Darkness #3) by K.F. Breene

Life for Sasha isn't getting easier. She has survived run-in's with monstrous Dulcha, lived through an abduction, and even made it passed Charles' constant badgering for sex. But if she thought the hurdles of this new life were behind her, she was dead wrong.

When the Regional comes to visit Stefan's clan, the pressure increases. Sasha finds herself on a giant scale, assessed for her magic and held in the balance. If she doesn't have the magic Stefan hopes, she could find herself on the street while still in grave danger. Even with a favorable outcome, however, her inability to use her magic presents a road block not easily crossed.

No, life is not getting easier.

Stefan feels the heat, too. He must finally declare a mate, and admitting his desire for a human is the worst form of taboo. He could jeopardize not only his place as leader, but his and Sasha's life. His decision is like walking on a razor's edge.

On the edge, but will there be a cut? This series keeps getting better with each book.  How much magic do human have, in specific Sasha?  Will she stand up to the tests of the Regional that come to test her power level and will she measure up to becoming Stefan’s mate.  Can she learn to control her magic that’s unlike any others?  Some of these things get some answered in this book.  And who is the real betrayer?   One is found but are there others? Stefan agrees to let her live with the Mata (Shifters) as an exchange program. It will give her a chance to work with Toa on her magic as well as learn to be a leader, one she must become to be his mate.  Can she do it?   So many facets are intertwined and yet as some unravel other come to light.  This is a very well written story and extremely enjoyable to read.  High praises to the author and looking forward to the next book in the series.  I love how the story continues and yet no major cliffhangers to fret over.  Yet I still want to read the next book to see how things play out.

Loved this book, can not believe how this story just rolls on and keeps me wanting more!!! Sasha is proving to be a great asset and she will keep you wanting to know more. The Mata has more then proven themselves. Stefan has truly showed how much he cares for Sasha!!

Don't get me wrong it's a complete story. It's just so good. I want to read more and was surprised I came to the end of the book. I'm glad there's another one to read.

This installment was just as fun, and with the change in scene, things heat up. While I love this series and everything the cast has to offer, I wasn't feeling the usual standards with this one. Having Sasha train with the Mata was a very exciting new setting, but instead of the implied stay she'd have with these people Stefan can't stand, it instead ventured to her being in a sort of isolated area so she wouldn't be so exposed to possible dangers. While logical and sane, I still wanted to see her interact with the whole pack and make just as much lovely chaos as she does at the mansion. Expecting something and getting another thing entirely was a bit of a let down, and although I love her time with Ann them, it still wasn't as thrilling as the first two books built it up to be. There was a huge battle, though, so perhaps that was what the climax was really working towards. I love the hilarious dialogue and moments that Charles never fails to bring, especially when it comes to Sasha. I just couldn't stop reading about the characters, all of them so different but sharing a common goal in life. It was great, and I couldn't wait to read the next one. I've already bought the rest of the series. This is a definite recommend.

$2.99 for this? Rip off. Although this book contains a full story (so no terrible cliff hangers), it is half the length of a typical book. It felt rushed. The author simply relied on previous descriptions of her characters, from books # 1 and #2, to work through this book instead of giving her characters more depth and breathing life into this book. It felt 2D and lifeless. I wish I could get my money back. I really liked books #1 and #2...

This would receive 5 stars except I believe 2.99 is WAY too much for a novella. Exciting storyline.

I continue to get excited about the other characters in the book. I am rooting for them as much as the main character- especially Charles! I'm beginning to feel more relaxed about Sasha, even though the writing keeps me on the edge of my seat. There was so much juicy content in this book, I found myself yet again unable to put it down!
