This was a sweet, well-written book. Mackenzie Walker is attending the wedding of one of her siblings when her long-lost first love, Alexander “Zan” Elliott shows up. She has a reputation now of being all business, but seeing him softens her heart. She can't admit it, though, since he says once again he will soon be leaving town. But seeing her brings back memories and he has trouble battling his feelings... I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading others by this author. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is the fourth in the One and Only series with related characters.

One & Only Series (Book 4) - Mac and Zan's story - Alexander (Zan) grew up with Brett (Mac's brother) as his best friend and started dating Mac. He decided to leave one day and stopped all contact except for sending Mac the occasional postcard just signed Z. Zan finally returned home and things quickly heat up with Mac. Zan needs to face the reason he feels he has to leave before finding happiness with Mac.

I have been waiting for Mac and Zan's story. We have been hearing about them through the other books, so it was good to finally meet Zan. Zan wasn't sure what he expected when he came home, but was surprised that so much had changed. Even the once carefree girl he had loved has changed so much. She is so closed, hard and still a little vulnerable. Did he have something to do with that? Even Brett seemed distant to him. Ten years makes a big difference. He is only going to be there for a short while, so it shouldn't matter. But it does. Mac has to guard her heart while Zan is home. She doesn't want to go through that heartache again.

One Love This is the 4th book in the One & Only series and wraps up the Walker family love life exploring the legend of Mac and Zan who were once teen lovers. It is now 10 years later & Zan has returned to be welcomed by the Blue Arrow Lake community but things are prickly between him & his former friends. Complex emotions to wade through in this read. I enjoyed reading about all of the Walker weddings as well as the glimpse into their future. (I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.)

This is the 4th and final book in the One and Only series by Christie Ridgway. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the books in this series and this one was no exception. Each book is the story of a different Walker sibling. They definitely can stand alone but it’s much more satisfying to read them as a series. This one is Mackenzie’s (Mac). Zan (Alexander) once lived on the mountain with his grandfather after the deaths of the rest of his family. Zan was best friends with Mac’s brother and became Mac’s high school sweetheart. Mac thought they would be together always and was devastated when Zan left the mountain. Mac has spent the last 10 years making sure no one really got close to her. Suddenly Zan returns to the mountain community to settle the estate when his grandfather dies. The road to happily ever after is never smooth and direct and no one writes it better than Christie Ridgway. This story was sad, happy and funny and evoked every emotion possible. Once you get involved with this family it’s hard to see the series come to an end.

I have been a longtime fan of Christie Ridgway. I have read many of her books and loved them all, but I have to say this book is my favorite of all! There was just something about the characters of Zan and Mac. From Zan calling her "Mackenzie Marie" to his signature "Z" on his many postcards. This book is part of a series, but can be read easily as a stand alone. The Walker family became like family to me throught these books! A wonderful summer read! The story kept me enthralled! I was actually sorry to see the book end! You can't go wrong in picking One Love by Christie Ridgway or for that matter any book by Ms Ridgway! “I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my unbiased review.”

The fourth book in the “One & Only series” is the perfect way to end a series (although we wish the series did not have to end). Mackenzie “Mac” Walker, the oldest Walker girl, has long remembered her first love, Alexander “Zan” Elliott. Zan was friends with the Walkers during their childhood, but left Blue Arrow Lake a decade ago and has never returned – until now. Zan has returned to wind up his late grandfather’s estate and arrives during the wedding reception of his best friend, Brett Walker. There is a lot of unfinished business between Mac and Zan, although Zan has made it clear that he is leaving as soon as his grandfather’s estate is complete. Just when you think you have the story figured out, Ms. Ridgway adds a new dimension to the story. I love how Ms. Ridgway has given you an update on the other three main groups of characters from the previous books. In addition, she has added a few new characters that are intertwined into the story, while giving Mac & Zan time to figure out if they will have a future together. There is a wonderful epilogue that will make you want to reread the first three books and “sigh” that the series is over. I received a free copy of this book in order to give an honest review. I loved reading One Love by Christie Ridgway is book four in her One and Only series. This is Mac (Mackenzie) Walker’s story. Mac is the oldest sister who runs who own business, Maids by Mac. Over the last ten years she has received 117 postcards from Zan, her first love. Zan is Alexander Elliot who returns after a ten year absence to manage his late grandfather’s estate. Zan was forced to live with his grandfather as a child after his family died in an airplane crash. Brett, the eldest Walker, invited Zan into the world of his family. Zan spent most of his time at the Walker home, feeling loved, hanging with Brett and Mac, and just growing up. At some point Zan and Mac became a couple, loving each other as only teens are capable of, until Zan flees the area to travel around the world. Although Mac still cares for Zan she has major trust issues due to the way he left, or deserted her. Zan is surprised that the chemistry still exists between them. Both wonder what now. Zan has always believed that you lose the ones you love because of the way he lost his family. He reasoned that by leaving Mac before losing her was the best. Now he is no longer certain that is true. Mac’s sisters remind Zan he is a “Brother of the Heart” and needs to accept that he will always have the Walker as family. Mac does her part to make sure that Zan knows she will always be his emergency contact. Zan wants to leave yet can he really leave Mac again. Ms. Ridgway is a wonderful story teller, making me feel as if I was right there in Blue Arrow Lake. I truly enjoyed this book and had trouble putting it down. I enjoyed seeing the changes in Mac and Zan, Mac learning to trust and Zan learning to accept that he won’t always lose what he loves. Although this book is part of a series it is a standalone story. I definitely recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

When you find yourself crying and don't remember feeling the teardrops fall, is the moment that a reader realizes something special just happened. That's what One Love proves to be. Something special. Ms. Ridgway delivers two deeply moving romances in a pocket-sized work of art. The Walkers are hardworking people that find trust a hard emotion, but once they let someone into their world they do so wholeheartedly. Zan considered himself an honorary Walker. In them he found the family he craved and the heart he thought was lost. Brett was his best friend, Mac was the missing part of his soul. In an act of desperation, Zan left it all behind to see the world, only to realize he already had it, right on that mountaintop. Now he's back to claim what's his, if the secrets he exposes doesn't wreck his chances. Zan and Walker, along with Ash and Tilda show that despite the odds, TRUE LOVE IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR.
