This is the 3rd book in the One & Only series and focuses on the oldest of the Walker family, Bret and his attraction to one of the summer visitors, Angelica Rodriguez who remains in Blue Arrow Lake for autumn. Their palpable magnetic attraction is predictable, so the "B" romance story of Angelica's friend Glory plus a burglary mystery is town made this a more interesting read. (I received a copy of the book in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.)

Brett is so prickly I didn't think he would find a happily ever after. He is a very caring person, but he doesn't want anyone to know it. I can't wait to read Mac's story. Angelica seems so lonely and a little bit broken after what her father did to her. But, she is stronger than she realizes and that is why she is able to handle Brett.

This was a well-written, sweet, fun book. Angelica's father has swindled her savings away, and now she just wants a place where she can belong, find a job and make friends. Brett has two sisters who are about to get married, but he's not ready to commit to any woman - especially Angelica, a visitor to the mountain area he calls home. Then one of his sisters gives her a job and his other sister says she can stay at the family cabins, making her his next door neighbor. There is also a mystery involving break-ins occurring around town that comes closer and closer to Angelica and Brett. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is the third in a series with related characters. I have enjoyed every book in the series and look forward to reading more books in this series as well as other books by this author.

One Night (One & Only Book 3) may be my favorite of the series, at least it is so far. I always enjoy a heroine who when faced with major problems in life, rolls up her sleeves and works through them. That pretty much sums up Angelica, plus she stays optimistic and emotional strong too. Grumpy Brett needs an enduring ray of sunshine like Angelica in his life. He is one lucky guy to find her. In One Night, his past comes to light which I have been interested in knowing after his appearances in his sisters’ story. If you haven’t read first two books in the series that will not present a problem I n reading this one first. This reissue and revised book stands well on its own. I did not read the previous edition which was part of the Cabin Fever Series so I cannot comment on how much change in the book has happened with this new version. What I can say is that Christie Ridgway writes an in-depth story with characters of worth allowing the reader to delve deep into their hearts and minds. I enjoy the romance but I love watching the characters of hers grow, change, embracing the possibility a lasting love. Not without plenty of ups and downs, twists and turns on the journey, mind you. Angelica and Brett do exactly that in One Night. Awesome read. The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book.

I love this series. Each of the Walker children are a bit alike but also are unique. Brett is more cynical than his sisters and is distrustful of love. Enter Angelica, who reminds us to not believe what we see on the surface of a person. She comes off as a person who has had everything go her way, but couldn't be further from the truth. Both have been hurt by people they loved. In this installment of the series, both Brett and Angelica are able to put the hurts from their past aside and build a future together. The side story of Glory and Kyle was a good reminder of following your dreams instead of the expectations of others. It was good to catch up with Poppy, Ryan, Jace, and Shay. I enjoyed learning more about Mac and am looking forward to her story with Zan. I received an advanced copy for an honest review.

One Night by Christie Ridgway is book three in her One and Only. This is actually a revised version of her book Can't Fight This Feeling with extra scenes added. This is Brett Walker and Angelica Rodriguez’s story. Brett has struggled since returning from his enlistment but believes it is his duty to protect Blue Arrow Lake. Angelica might have been raised in a wealthy family but with her father’s legal problems, she has no money to her name. Brett and Angelica are so good together and I loved the way they worked together to find the person responsible for the burglaries occurring around the lake. Ms. Ridgway is a wonderful story teller, making me feel as if I was right there in Blue Arrow Lake. This story was sexy, fun, and entertaining with very likeable and authentic characters. I also enjoyed seeing the rest of Brett’s family pop up in this story. I definitely recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

How is it that two people who have nothing in common fit together so perfectly? Perhaps, it's because they share a common bond. Betrayal by the person they held most dear. One Night relates the careful rebuilding of broken trust, shattered dreams and the merging of two souls. Angelica's plight is one of surprising strength. This seemingly pampered rich girl is left twisting in the wind when heartbreaking truths come to light. Now it's up to her to discover what she's capable of and whom to trust with her deepest secrets and her broken heart. Ms. Ridgway has an endearing way of spinning emotional tales into thoughtful lessons of courage and optimism.
