This is my third book that I have read of Olivia Miles and like the last two books she did not disappoint. Olivia does a great job of mixing both romance, heartbreak and a little bit of humor all into one book. This is the first in the series of Misty Point so she did a great of introducing a variety of characters into the book in addition to the main characters so that you could play around in your head with who the next story was going to be about. In regards to character development I think Olivia did a great job of giving you enough description of what occurred in Kate's past as well as Alec's but didn't spend a huge amount of time on it where you felt like it over powered their romance developing. With storyline and how she built Alec and Kate's romance I felt she did a good job on this as well. I am glad she didn't make them fall head over heels in love right away because that is just unrealistic with what Kate went through. It was nice to see those characters really develop through out the book. I can't wait to read the next book in the series about Charlotte's story and get to read her fall in love but also read about her relationship mend with her sister Kate!

Kate is planning her best friend’s wedding and she wants it to be perfect. Kate’s life hasn’t been a bed of roses-she’s working hard, but her boss still has some sort of grudge against her and when she was planning her own wedding, she was jilted by her fiancee, who cheated on her with her own sister. Time has passed, but her sister’s betrayal still hurts and it doesn’t help that people in the town are trying not to upset Kate, when the weddings topic comes up. Kate is trying to show that everything is under control, but sometimes some things take time to heal. When things seem to get better, Kate’s life becomes messy again- her sister starts to search contact with her and the workaholic best man gives her a headache, even though there’s an attraction between them. It was a sweet and engaging story about love, betrayal, misunderstandings, devotion and friendship. I found the characters well developed and the story well written, I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Olivia Miles takes a slight departure from her small town romances in her new book One Week to the Wedding. Though the small town elements are still well in evidence, this novel falls more into the women’s fiction category as we see Kate put her life back together after the ultimate betrayal, all while making sure her best friend has the wedding of her dreams. I really enjoyed Kate’s story. Miles aptly demonstrates that thing are not always what they seem and sometimes the best thing you can do is let go. While, a little too serious for a true beach read, it is still worth throwing into your beach bag for a long weekend away. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

3.5 stars! One Week to the Wedding is the first and exciting new novel from author Olivia Miles. This book is fun and light and has just the right amount of drama. I enjoyed Kate from the moment I met her. I thought she was an amazing friend and loved that she helped plan her bff’s wedding despite having her own personal reservations when it comes to tying the knot. Be a wedding planner is no easy feat when it comes to her jilted heart, but if anyone can do it, it’s Kate….Charlotte knows she messed up. She hurt her sister in a way that no sister ever should. She’ll do anything to get Kate to forgive her, even if that means she’s go to return home. Will Kate be able to move on from the past and heal her wounded heart? Will Kate learn the power of true love, forgiveness and family? You’ll just have to read this book for yourself to find out. Overall, I thought this book was an ok read. I thought this book was written and paced very well. The characters were likable and easy to relate to. They kept me intrigued and had me wanting to learn more. I loved the setting and idea of this story. There is nothing like a jilted woman finding love again! I think this story was a great and sweet second chance romance. It is a great story of second chances; not just in love, but also family. I think this story had just the right amount of drama and romance. Overall, I think this series is off to a good start and I look forward to seeing where it will go next.

“One Week to the Wedding” was hard to put down! The storyline is current and the characters are so relatable. Our lovely Kate has just broken up and cancelled her dream wedding with the “dream guy”. Hard enough but when your career is as a wedding planner that can make your life even harder. But then the handsome Alec appears. Alec is planning to put a stop to his own brother’s wedding, not realizing his life is about to change, once he meets the pretty and talented wedding planner. Kate’s sister Charlotte has had to grow up quickly and take responsibility for her actions with Kate’s ex-fiancé. You will enjoy meeting the other charming and interesting characters that live in the small east coast town, Misty Point. “One Week to the Wedding” is a quick read that will leave you feeling like anything is possible and everyone “deserves a life overflowing with love.”

One Week to the Wedding is the most wonderful book that I have read from all the books that I have read so far from different other books. Olivia Miles did a wonderful job writing this book, it was base on what I feel about how to let go of your past history and be able to move on along with forgiving people for their past mistakes. The book is beautiful written where you can put yourself in the book and almost relate to the problems that Kate Daniels went through. This book is worth buying and reading along keeping it forever.

After her own wedding fell apart, Kate Daniels is left struggling to put on a brave face and help plan her best friends wedding. Every facet of the planning is reminding her of what she lost, and stirring up the hurt and bad memories all over again. But then she meets Alec, the brides soon to be brother in law, and he becomes the perfect distraction for her, an irritating distraction no less, but he definitely helps her focus her thoughts on something else for a change. But just when things in Kate's life look like they are starting to turn around her sister wanders back into her life, looking to mend fences, and Kate isn't so sure she is ready to let her back in. Charlotte is partly to blame for the break-up of Kate's wedding and she feels as though she has a score to settle. If she can just corner Kate long enough to say her peace... This endearing story captured my attention from the first page, and took me on a very enjoyable literary escape. While I normally stick close to the romance genre, I found this read to be a refreshing change of pace for me, I would say it is more of a women's fiction story that borders on romance. The story line was very engaging, and is filled with moments that will make smile, moments that will have you reaching for a tissue, and moments that will have your heart rejoicing... it is an all around good read. If you are looking for a read to pack into your vacation reading bag, I highly recommend you add this one to it, it is sure to leave with a happy heart! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.

Kate Daniels is a wedding planner and right now she is helping with her best friend, Elizabeth’s wedding. She is trying to calm Elizabeth’s nerves as her fiancé, William’s father doesn’t seem to care for her. William’s mother passed away some years back and his father is a high-powered financial executive. William’s brother, Alec, who works with his father will be there for the wedding as well. Elizabeth feels that he doesn’t approve of the wedding either. Kate was to have been married a year ago to Jake but the wedding was called off at the last minute. It turns out that Kate’s sister, Charlotte, had slept with Jake. It has been difficult for Kate to get over her broken heart but she is working hard to do so. Kate has a monster for a boss. The woman does all she can to trip her up and make her look like she missed some detail. Therefore, Kate always has her many checklists with her. As the days of the last week pass, Kate is busy with being sure the dresses, tuxes, parties, flowers, food, cake, etc. are all in order. In addition to being the wedding planner, she will be Elizabeth’s maid of honor. When Kate meets Alec to discuss the rehearsal dinner and his part as the best man, he appears to be somewhat arrogant to her which makes their discussions rather rocky. But as they get to know one another, an attraction develops between them. Could this lead somewhere or is it just a fling in the midst of the excitement of a wedding? I enjoyed this story very much. Kate is a character that has been perfectly developed by the author. We see her pain, her kindness, and her determination to be a success. I hope readers will enjoy this sweet and clean story as much as I did. Copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

One Week to the Wedding by Olivia Miles is the first book in the Misty Point series, OM's newest series! I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much for the opportunity, I very much enjoyed reading this book! Misty Point is a small beach town, complete with a many quaint amenities - an Inn, a flower shop, a bakery, a tea shop, a cafe, and more, and I could just picture the storefronts with their cute flower boxes in front! Details that really paint Misty Point as a picturesque and charming place to be! This is a story about second chances, about moving through life's struggles, about turning points. Our Heroine, Kate, faces all of these things as she plans her best friend's wedding in the midst of getting over her own broken engagement, and her strained relationship with her sister. As wedding planner and best friend to the bride, Kate strives to keep tabs on the unpredictable best man, Alec, as he seems to be more concerned with business rather than wedding duties. Yet, as time goes on she may start to believe that maybe he's not as bad as she first thought, and that despite her past, maybe love and forgiveness is possible again. I love how the author sets up this series - the friendships, the romance intertwined, what a wonderful start! I'm anxious to see how everything progresses between Kate and Alec, and how Charlotte fares, along with Bree and Colleen! I really enjoyed all the characters and how the girls have a tight knit group! I am looking forward to more in Misty Point!! Happy Reading!

What is meant to be a cause for celebration, could end up being anything but. One Week to the Wedding is a tale of sisterhood, betrayals and second chances. Olivia Miles always delivers stories that are full of substance, not just entertaining. Kate and Charlotte are sisters with a complicated relationship. What should have been an unbreakable bond has ended up tarnished by betrayal and jealousy. I guess that old the statement about not realizing how important something is until too late is true. One regret too many has left Charlotte estranged from the most important person in her life. Will Kate every forgive her? One Week to the Wedding is a thought provoking story of heartache, family and forgiveness told through the eyes of love and a heart of regret.
