Matthew's past is a mystery. He has no memories besides hiding in the shadows, in the ground, in the dark. That is, until his father sets the place on fire, with Matthew still in it! He had only one person to turn to... if only the anglerfish shifter didn't stir something hot and alien inside him he didn't dare name.
TJ had been rescued by FUC and forced to live his life as a grotesque hybrid fish-man for years before finally cured of it. When he met Matthew, his life was suddenly set on its head. Matt makes him want to betray every oath he's ever taken, if it means they could face the demons of their past together.
But they couldn't stay hidden forever. Forced to cooperate with FUC, Matthew must revisit the site of his memories, with visions of the experimental tanks remaining in his mind. What had his father really been up to? Was Bazyli really his father at all? Had he really abandoned Matthew and his sister, and where is the mad scientist now?
