Nació el 25 de octubre de 1881 en Málaga. Su padre se encargará de iniciarlo en el dibujo y la pintura. Hasta el año 1898 utilizó los apellidos paterno y materno para firmar sus trabajos, pero desde 1901 firmó solo con el apellido de la madre.
