This championship book is written for those of us who love Penn State Football. Others can find their missing information from the bookshelves of those PSU fans who have this book. Maybe!Despite so may great season records, the last time the PSU Nittany Lions won a national championship was in 1986 and it was against Notre Dame, whose last big national win was in 1988. ND fell hard that year and it was because of the Paterno "Boys" JoePa coached for eight thousand years so he should have had more than just two national championships (50 years of coaching) but somehow, PSU was not as respected as a lot of other teams. Besides the two national championship seasons, JoePa brought in five undefeated and untied seasons which Linos' fans call championships. In 1982, the Nittany Lions were 11-1 and they defeated big back Herschel Walker and Georgia to give Penn State a long-awited NC. Just 3 yrs later, the Nittany Lions came up short in the Orange Bowl v Barry Switzer's Oklahoma Sooners. But the next year, PSU would be back to play for a NC for another big win. John Schaffer got the job done for PSU by the running of DJ Dozier, and the D was better than ever. PSU has always been as good as it gets and still is.The book first tells the story about Penn State's founding in 1855 and it covers a lot of ground in football stories before George Hoskins in 1892, and the great immortal Penn State coaches-Hugo Bezdek, Bob Higgins, Rip Engle, Joe Paterno-and now James Franklin.This book captures the many championship moments in Penn State Football. You won't believe all that is in this book and there is still a lot to say. You will not be able to put this PSU championship book down.
