Overview

Persephone the Daring (Goddess Girls Series #11) by Joan Holub, Suzanne Williams

Mortal rock star Orpheus steals the spotlight in this Goddess Girls tale of love and lyres!

Orpheus is a mortal rock god, and the girls at Mount Olympus Academy are wild about him! With his lyre and singing voice, Orpheus can charm pretty much anything—even things like stones and trees. But Hades and the other MOA boys aren’t charmed. In fact, they are less than thrilled that the girls are so gaga over this guy.

His fans are especially excited about his latest song about the girl he loved and lost, Eurydice. Orpheus was devastated when he lost Eurydice to the Underworld, so he asks Persephone to help get her back. Though it means breaking some very serious Underworld rules, Persephone pushes Hades to return Eurydice to the living world. But restoring Orpheus’s one true love might jeopardize Persephone’s own chances with her biggest crush...

Persephone the Daring continues the series that turns Greek mythology heroes into modern day teenagers going to school and learning all about life and friendship. In Greek mythology Persephone (pur-SEF-uh-nee) is kidnapped by Hades, the god of the underworld. Her mother, the goddess of the harvest, braves a rescue to bring Persephone home. Hades agrees to let Persephone go home for one half of the year during spring and summer when flowers bloom. The half of the year where Persephone is with Hades the world knows the barren seasons of fall and winter. In the Goddess Girls series Persephone is a typical teen-age girl with friends and dates and school. She is know as the "dependable one" according to the Teen Scrollazine poll. When a girl's sleep-over truth or dare game is played Persephone will be given the dare to get the autograph of mortal rock star Orpheus. Will she be the dependable one or can she turn into the daring one? With the help of backup singer Eurydice, Persephone tries to be a little more daring. But when Eurydice is trapped in the Underworld and Hades birthday present comes to bloom, plans are formed, music fans are entertained, and Persephone strengthens her friendship with Hades. Amazing writing! Fun story! Really good series!

This is a awesome book. FINALLY another one about Persephone. Its so cool how she helps Orpheus. This is not a waste of money, okay? It is totally worth it. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT listen to the people who gave it one star. Its a awesome, addicting rock n' roll goddess girls. Listen to me because im right. You one star "it stinks" people are not.

Okay! Its Hillary Brandy and heres some news, my sister (Harper Brandy) is making polls at 'gone(by michael grant)' and if you havnt checked hem out you should. Theyre titled Cherrystorm. Second is i read Rachel's amazing MLP stories! Theres one at 'dull days' all res titled , another at 'applejack' results one to three titled, and one more at 'rarity' results one to five. I kind of forget what they're called so check in Medusa the Mean (titled Rachel) and Rachel, I think you should write a story from Pinkie's and Flutterfly's point of views! This will be our last question 'til December third when Cassandra the Lucky comes out. But here's the question! Do you look at people when you talk to them or when they talk to you? How do YOU feel when people dont look at you when you talk? Next in Cassandra the Lucky when it comes out in December third. Rachel: please inform me if your going to listen to my suggestions about two new stories! This book is FIVE STARS and it keeps me on my toes waiting for their next adventure!

Orpheus played his lyre so good all the rocks and trees would listen to him. He fell in love with this maiden named Euriduce. They got married and yayayayay....... so she was walking through the woods when she got bitten by a snake. She got sent to the underworld and Orpheus went down to get her. He enchanted Hades and Persephone with his lyre. He had to go out with her, not looking at her until they were both out of the cave. He looked at her to early and she went away. THE END

Orpheus was a mortal that could sing and play his lyre really well, and one day when he was playing music under a tree, he looked up and saw a nymph named Eurydice and they fell in love yadadadada... But one day Eurydice was being chased by a god who thought she was hot and wanted to marry her even though she was taken and she was bitten by a snake and died. When he heard the news, Orpheus was totally devastated so he decided to go to the underworld and get her back. He sang and the rocks opened up for him so he could go through and even Charon liked his singing and playing. He talked to Hades and (you can probobly guess) sang and played about Eurydice, and Persephone begged Hades to let him have Eurydice back. He let Orpheus have her back on one condition: she follows him out but he can't look behind him. Orpheus was doing great until he came to the exit of the cave and turned around. He saw Eurydice behind him and then she got sucked back into the underworld. AND THEY ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER, THE END. I love happy endings!
