Overview

Pink Flamingoed by Steve Demaree

An author inherits his grandparents home and plans to move in, hibernate for the winter, and write his next bestseller. But five minutes after he arrives, some of his neighbors ring his doorbell and his life is never the same game. It is much better. The book is full of humor and quirky characters who have bonded and spend much time together, celebrating anything they can think of to celebrate, which causes readers to comment that this is the neighborhood in which they want to live. Pink Flamingoed is the first book in the Aylesford Place series.

About the Author

Steve Demaree has always loved reading from the time he was a child. While he did not become an author until his early fifties, he has made up for lost time and has written twenty-six books so far. He has three series; one a mystery series with humor, one of them a mystery series without humor, and one of them a humorous series about quirky characters who live in a neighborhood that makes readers wish they could live there. None of his books contain any profanity, sex, or gore. He continues to write a couple of books a year.

I'm a fan of mysteries but wanted to read another of Demaree's books. This was a cute story. Very different style but still good, clean reading. Wouldn't it be wonderful if all neighborhoods and churches were like this.... everyone cares and shows Christ's love?

This is a clean, fun story, with very interesting people, in a neighborhood that might make you wish you lived there too. A light easy read.

This is a a sappy, sweet story of the residents of a one street whose lives almost totally revolve around their interactions as residents and members of the church located on that street. While published in 2016, the story seems to be set in some earlier time. The religion aspect is very central and the chaste, lovey-dovey aspects are,as well. If possible, l would award this book 2.5 stars.

A perfect neighborhood, a perfect church, perfect neighbors; the only one whose life isn't perfect is poor Malory - but we never hear much about her. Every little conundrum is solved a little too easily, and, well...perfectly. That said, the characters are varied and interesting, even if somewhat static. If you're looking for something to challenge your intellect, this isn't it, but if you favor an easy, pleasant story, this is for you.

This was a well written book. I loved getting to know each of the characters.i wish that we got to learn about Peabody, and more of Lady Catherine's story. All in all it was such a pleasure to read. I would love to read a second book to continue this story.

Well I have never laughed so much in reading a book and enjoyed the whole story. If only this country could have all our neighborhoods live as this one.
