Overview

Plato on Love: Lysis, Symposium, Phaedrus, Alcibiades, with Selections from Republic and Laws / Edition 1

This collection features Plato's writings on sex and love in the preeminent translations of Stanley Lombardo, Paul Woodruff and Alexander Nehamas, D. S. Hutchinson, and C. D. C. Reeve.

Reeve's Introduction provides a wealth of historical information about Plato and Socrates, and the sexual norms of classical Athens. His introductory essay looks closely at the dialogues themselves and includes the following sections: Socrates and the Art of Love; Socrates and Athenian Paiderastia; Loving Socrates; Love and the Ascent to the Beautiful; The Art and Psychology of Love Explained; and Writing about Love.

DO NOT READ THIS. (Or do, actually.) If you have a device that can open a browser (chrome, firefox, internet explorer, safari), please continue reading this. I know you think highly of Nook roleplay, but its not very legal. I'm not telling you to stop, just pointing out the bad things and leading you to a better roleplay with real prophecies and stuff. Nook roleplay has cyberbullies, those people who claim to be the 'good guys' but call the people who roleplay villains or dark characters mindless nerds, and idiots, those people who call no.obs idiots, so you should quit. Step one: copy this down if you can. The sooner you get off nook, the happier you'll be. Step two: search up 'schoology' on a search engine. No, this has nothing to do with school. Step three: It should be 'the education cloud'. Select that. Listen to peaceful music :) Step four: In the top right, select 'get started'. Step five: You want orange basic on the left. Step six: select student on the left. Step seven: Ok write the code as exactly in the parenthesis but without any parenthesis. (TQCC9-SHMBH) If you need help remembering it, think 'Taco-Shambah'. Step eight: it will ask your na.me and in.fo, make it all up. Don't use real things unless you want to. Step nine: after you've confirmed and entered that stuff, you should be on a blank page that wants to give you a tour. You may have to wait a while and come back later, but eventually you will be in a roleplay room. Ten: welcome to Roleplay for Refugees! Scroll all the way down to the very first post and comment 'I Agree.' Eleven: Advertise on nook roleplay. PLEASE! The code only stays the same for about three months, so advertise as much as you can. I can only post once in a book result, so please advertise. Please, I beg you! Advertise.

I enjoy this role play lots, and I hate drama a little less than you. People I trying to spice up this place for more fun, I know you created this place, but you can't keep making people stop what they're doing, it looks weird and its rather rude. Ban me or whatever, and I will be upset, but it'll take out a neat character in my opinion. Yours truly, Darkflame

NO EXCEPTIONS. <p> 1. No ignoring. <br> 2. If you rp more than three humanoids, you must make a dragon character, and to play multiple characters one MUST be humanoid. <br> 3. Don't play your rider and its dragon. <br> 4. If you get banned, you can make it up to the alpha and cheif. <br> 5. You must be either dragon(oid) or human(oid)! <br> 6. No dragon-human shapeshifting. <br> 7. No godmodding. <br> 8. 3 attacks/defences/spells per post. <br> 9. No dragon eating. <br> 10. No more than ten characters. <br> 11. You must have male and female characters if you rp two or more. <br> 12. Try not to fight. <br> 13. Listen to everyone. <br> 14. Only 3 spells (performed on battle) per character. <br> 15. Don't cause too much drama. <br> 16. Always ask before making someone your dragon or rider. <br> 17. DO NOT ADD ON TO THE RULES. <br> 18. DO NOT POST HERE! <br> 19. You must have a weakness (and a strength), you do not have to say in your bio. <br> 20. Be careful with weapons, some of us are tied to objects. <br> 21. You cannot age more than two years a month. <br> 22. Dragonethood/childhood only comes once, so make it awesome! Nobody should suffer tainted childhoods, and I think we all know what those feel like. <br> 23. No healing using magic. <br> 24. You can only dodge three times in an entire battle. <br> 25. No cussing. <br> 26. No gods. <br> If I am changing the rules on you, figure it out. You can keep the character, just change it a bit. Everyone starts with ten points, which can be removed or added as the cheif and alpha see fit. Only the cheif or alpha can remove or add points. <p> Ranks: <br> Citizen: dragonets and children (under 13), as well as anyone who stays in citizen-area, they usually do not fight. <br> Aprentice: a lone (does not have rider/dragon) dragon or humanoid that wants to learn a specific skill. Stick around the people with the skill you wish to learn. <br> Riding pair: basically an aprentice, but a team of a dragon and a humanoid who have not mastered a specific skill. They usually end up in the same skill rank with eachother. <br> Hunter/huntress: the food gatherers of the tribe. Despite the name, they can gather meat or plant. <br> Gaurd/gaurdess: the protectors of the tribe. They report any suspicious activity to the alpha or cheif emediately. <br> Fighter/fightress: the warriors of the tribe. They should always be first out to battle. <br> Doctor/doctress: the healers of the tribe. The masters of medicine. <br> Brood gaurd: a group of five male dragons asigned to gaurd the dragonets and children. <br> Cheif gaurd: a group of two humanoids chosen by the cheif to gaurd the cheif. <br> Alpha gaurd: a group of two dragons chosen by the alpha to gaurd the alpha. <br> Heirs: the two dragon and rider peirs chosen to become the next possible alpha and cheif. Current: Eta and Uma, Katie and Dawn. <br> Cheif: the alpha's rider, has command over all humanoids and second in command over all dragons. <br> Alpha: the cheif's dragon, has command over all dragons and second in command over all humanoids. <br> If the alpha or cheif di<_>es, the living one must find a new rider/dragon before the next fullmoon, then of the two heir pairs, one will be selected in a vote to be the next alpha and cheif. The other heir pair remains, and the new alpha and cheif may choose new cheif gaurds and alpha gaurds. Once you grow out of young age, you choose whether to be an aprentice or stay a citizen. <p> Th&epsilon Seer of &#356<_>ruth

With new government comes new rules. <br> <br> One: no godmodding. The rules from below srill apply on this aspect. The godmodding will be pointed out and ignored, three attacks/defensive moves a post the rest will be ignored. You know the drill. <br> <br> Two: listen to the council members. They are chosen by hand because of their skills in their respective categories. <br> <br> Three: no dragon-humanoid shapeshifters and mixes (i am aware there are a couple here already, they can stay because im changing the rules on them and all that) <br> <br> Four: dont start fights. Fights will result in punishment. Try diplomacy next time. Might work better. <br> <br> Five: there are no specific limits for new members anymore, but as a general rule (with a couple exceptions *cough* syn) people who have been here longer ar more powerful, and are bigger, etc. <br> <br> <br> And now ranks: <br> <br> Citizen: non-fghting members as well as hatchlings and dragonets. <br> <br> Warrior: grown dragons and humanoids that can fight and defend if need be. <br> <br> Elites: dragons and humanoids that excel at fighting and defending. <br> <br> Healer: appointed member assigned to heal and tend wounds. They are the only ones who have healing powers. <br> <br> Council: a group of six members, three humanoids, three dragons, who make decisions. (Originals chosen by me, replacements chosen by popular vote) <br> <br> Any extra additions will be added if they are needed because i have a feeling i forgot something. <br> <br> <br> ~~Cassi~~
