Overview

Plum and Crow are magical creatures with no memory of their past or how they came to be in a small town, watching over a young boy and his struggling family.

Plum is only two-inches tall, fiery and determined. She soars through sparkling skies and creeps throughcrawl spaces with her guardian, Crow. Together, they help John and Catherine stand up to local bullies, including an alcoholic father they call The Argul.

Plum and Crow begin also to piece together the mystery of who they are and how and why they are together.

Plum and Crow is a timeless story for all ages, allowing us to see reality through a magical lens - a world not so harsh that we turn away, but real enough that we embrace the possibilities.

About the Author

R. M. Kinder, aka B.A.L. McMillan, is a Missouri writer publishing through both traditional and indie presses. Her fiction spans realism and fantasy in different genres. She is the author of five novels, three collections of short stories, and a dual media biography of a Missouri fiddler. Her short story collections have received the Willa Cather Award by Helicon Nine Press; the University of Michigan Award for Literary Fiction; and the University of Notre Dame Creative Writing Program's Richard Sullivan Award. She lives in Warrensburg, Missouri with her husband, Baird, pets Lark and Pip, many backyard creatures, and from where she works with small presses to promote regional writing.
