This petite collection is wonderful for breaking us out of the everyday. It's so easy to get drowned by the mundane Ferlinghetti knows how to jump start imagination with a well turned sentence. Like western zen kones, these thoughts are good for reflection when there's no time for a leisurely read and stand up to close and studied pondering.

I like this book, because it talks about real poetry,it talks about how does the poetry feels when it comes to live in your imagination, how does it feel when you are writing, when you finish, when you read it to someone or just to your self. It's a real beautiful meaning of poet, and poetry. I also recommended:passion,a novel for the romantic poets.

In 'Poetry as Insurgent Art,' Lawrence Ferlinghetti philosophizes and personifies what poetry is and really what it could develop into. Although it is a short read, its contents speak volumes. Ferlinghetti offers many different insights into the art of making poetry and really honing your craft. He also updates his sentiments with up-to-date new-age lingo to reflect the changing times. In short, it is a thoughtful, powerful and refined piece that is recommended for longtime fans of Ferlinghetti or those that are searching for what poetry means to them.
