Pretty Good Start

From the Foreword: In late September, 1991, an unfinished version of what would become the only animated feature to be nominated for best film at the Academy Awards, "Beauty and the Beast", was shown at the New York Film Festival. About seventy percent of the animated scenes were complete. The rest were represented by pencil tests and storyboards. Reportedly, the standing ovation for the incomplete rendering lasted for ten minutes.
