Prince of Power is the second book in the Chronicles of Yavn series, it picks up the plot threads let open in King of Darkness and runs with them. I enjoyed the first installment in the series but this book really blew me away! If you love a fast paced, action packed romance with a strong female and a softer caring male then this is one for you. Tyra is Thad's older half sister- half-human, half-vampire she's always been a little different from everyone else. She's a trained warrior who relishes in helping others. Her relationship with Anton struck a chord with me as they balance each other out. His strengths are her weaknesses and vice versa. It's nice to see a male knowingly accepting that it's ok for his mate to be stronger than him in some ways and to accept her as she is. Anton surprised me, he's not the ultimate alpha male that you often find in pnr but he has an inner strength and he will fight for what's right. Yes they have issues and many obstacles still to overcome but theirs is a relationship I can see working longterm, they compliment each other well. I love the fact that it's Vampires against Wizards with the humans being unaware of the war going on around them. The action really heated up in this one and Elisabeth added new dimensions to the story, I feel invested in the characters more now and the little snippets of Lee & Alexia have me on tenterhooks waiting for their story.

I found this story entertaining but could have a better romantic backbone. The premise is fine but the couple was not well matched. Other than that I do not regret my purchase and enjoyed the story.

Having not read the first book in this series, I was a little worried about missing out on things, and that’s exactly what happened… at first. I would recommend reading the first installment as it obviously is important when it comes to details, but PLEASE do not let it deter you from this highly entertaining, wildly dark and erotic series. As an epic battle between vampires and wizards unfolds, this wonderful story goes deep into the lives of each and every one of the fascinating characters, proving their strengths and exposing their weaknesses. The story focuses on Tyra, the tenacious and strong heroine sister of the Vampire King and Anton, the mysteriously sexy hero and son of the Wizard Master. When their paths cross, sparks fly between the two of them and they must try to forget the centuries old feud between their people and learn to trust what they feel for one another against all odds. A fun, steamy, romantic and exciting story, this book is a paranormal romance lover’s dream. And with a cliffhanger so excruciating, readers will find themselves begging for the next chapter in this amazing series! Reviewed by Marie for Cocktails and Books
