Principles of Seismology

The scientific study of earthquakes and the propagation of elastic waves through the Earth or other planet like bodies is referred to as seismology. It also includes the environmental effects of the earthquake such as tsunamis. The elastic waves that propagate in fluid or solid materials are known as seismic waves.
