Carrigans of Circle C - Book 1

Sage Carrigan never meant to be the other woman. Unfortunately, bronco rider Dawson O'Dell neglected to mention he was married the night he invited her to his bed after they'd both placed first in their rodeo events. When his wife walked in on them – Sage was deeply hurt and humiliated. After an accident in the ring the next day, Sage decides she's quitting the rodeo–and cowboys--to become a chocolatier in her hometown ranching community, Marietta, Montana. She's doing just fine, but then Dawson shows up --five years later, with a little girl in tow. He's here for the Copper Mountain Rodeo hoping to win big. But he's also got plans of settling down with his daughter and buying a house--the very same one that Sage has been dreaming about. He says he's here for her and he's making lots of promises. After quitting rodeo because of an injury, Sage Carrigan opened up her own chocolate shop in Marietta. Dawson O'Dell is back in town with his daughter and is wanting to settle down. He is determined to win Sage over, but after being humiliated 5 years ago, Sage is leery on taking a chance again. Promise Me, Cowboy is a short, sweet read about second chances. You won't be disappointed.

Promise Me, Cowboy Promise Me, Cowboy takes us back to Marietta to indulge in the sweet but sexy romance between Sage Carrigan and Dawson O'Dell. Ms. Carmichael does an amazing job of pulling you into the story and infusing love, family, and the charm of Marietta in such a short format. I wasn't ready for it to end! I really enjoyed this story of forgiveness and love, and would have happily spent many more pages with this couple.

Promise Me, Cowboy by CJ Carmichael is a wonderful addition to the previous Mountainborn Books novellas. It is a fun, fast read, and a wonderful story of fate, choices made and the consequences that come with them. And as a bonus, this book incorporates the characters from Tempt Me, Cowboy and Marry Me, Cowboy and wraps all the stories neatly together. This was my favorite of the 3 novellas to date. I would highly recommend all of these books.

I really enjoyed this story. It was on the sweeter side of the romance continuum, a little less steamy than the prior novellas in the Copper Mountain Rodeo series, but still very good. What I loved most about this story was that it tied in to the first two installments really well. It can be read as a standalone like the other installments; however, it had returning characters that I enjoyed seeing again and gave the series more of a unified feel than the previous two books. Additionally, it introduced some new interesting characters I hope we see in future installments. Overall, I am really enjoying this entire series.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. The characters in it had great chemistry and I loved the lost love that was rekindled. I thought that the story was great and it flowed together pretty well.

Sage Carrigan stopped competing as a barrel-racer for two reasons. One was a serious leg injury and the other was a broken heart. She returned to Marietta, Montana and became a chocolatier. No one knows that she fell in love with a married man. Now Dawson O'Dell (the man in question) is in town with his five year old daughter, Savannah. He's the new deputy. He plans to stay and to make Sage his wife. Will they be able to find love after so much hurt? CJ Carmichael always delivers a wonderful romantic story. Sage and Dawson are all too human. They have problems, heartbreak and insecurities just like we do. Savannah is a darling child who has grown up too fast and worships her father. The more I learn about Marietta and her people the more I want to know. This novella is easily read in one sitting. Don't miss it!

Sage has her life in order--sisters who love her, a great chocolate shop, a curmudgeonly father--but lacks love in her life. As she rides by her dream house, her life turns upside down. Dawson, the cowboy she loved until she found out about his wife at the wrong end of gun while "caught in the act", came to town with the rodeo. He's staying! And buying the house of her dreams. She thought he'd leave with the rodeo. A life she left behind with a broken heart and an injury. Dawson, finally ridding himself of his past, is hoping to rekindle the love of the one woman he ever regretted losing. A single father, he's leaving the rodeo circuit to start life anew as a deputy in Sage's hometown. And hoping, that maybe she'll be the one to help him start over. But, he has a lot to overcome. This time, he's making promises he intends to keep. But will Sage's heart open and learn to trust, and love him again? He'll have to show her one step at a time. I loved the story trope and the writing. This story delivers and is a great addition to the Montana Born series set in the fictional town of Marietta, Montana that interweaves the lives of several families through the eyes of several authors.

Promise Me, Cowboy is a nice romantic story set in the fictional town Marietta in Montana. The story is book number 3 in the Montana Born Series and it has a couple more references to the other two stories but nothing that can’t be understood reading only this story. It contains great characters and I for one look forward to reading more stories set in Marietta.

C.J. Carmichael’s PROMISE ME, COWBOY is another fun addition to the Copper Mountain Rodeo series of novellas set in Marietta, Montana. This novella focuses on Sage Carrigan, former rodeo barrel race and owner of Copper Mountain Chocolates. Sage has secrets, and one of them came to town for the Copper Mountain Rodeo. She met Dawson O’Dell on the circuit, where they became friends, and had literally just crossed into the “more than friends” when his wife, the one he forgot to mention, shows up. That was five years ago, and now he is back with a daughter and plans to stay and wants Sage to be a part of this new life he is building. Sage is understandably gun-shy, and it will take hard work by Dawson to convince her that things will be different this time. I love that Carmichael, like the other authors in this series, are able to develop characters that have depth and are believable in the shorter novella format. Each installment of the series pulls you further into the lives of the people of Marietta. Sage and Dawson’s story is well-paced, but I would happily visit longer with them or any of the other characters we have me so far, and can’t wait for my next visit to the town of Marietta.

PROMISE ME, COWBOY (Copper Mountain Rodeo book 3) was amazing!  I did not want the book to end.  Sage and Dawson were such likable characters and their story is easy to relate to.  Their tug-of-wars of emotions, expectations and desires made the book even more enjoyable.  I sure hope that there is more to their story in the future from CJ Carmichael.

Promise Me, Cowboy by CJ Carmichael is the 3rd book in the Copper Mountain Rodeo Series and it is an absolutely delightful read. This is Sage and Dawson’s story. They met on the rodeo circuit 5 years ago and became friends and Sage thought they had shared everything about their lives, but Dawson had failed to mention that he was married! Of course Dawson’s wife shows up at a very inopportune time holding a shotgun. Sage is mortified and humiliated and ends up getting hurt the next day. Sage leaves the rodeo and Dawson behind and opens a chocolate shop in her home town. Dawson shows up in town for the annual rodeo plans to walk right back into Sage’s life and to settle in her hometown. Of course things don’t quite work the way Dawson planned……. Carmichael does a great job of giving us their back story as they are learning to trust and either forgive or move on from each other for good. I wasn’t ready for the story to end. I wanted to get to know the other characters that were introduced and I am hoping that we will get to read more stories involving Sage’s sisters. This is a standalone story, but I think that it is enhanced by the first 2 books in this series and recommend reading all three in order.

In Promise Me, Cowboy by C. J. Carmichael, Sage has left the rodeo circut behind and is happy with her chocolate making shop.  The last person she expects to walk through the doors of her shop is Dawson...the man she fell for 5 years ago, and the man who happened to not mention he was married at the time.   Neither of them have forgotten the other.  Sage still feels the horror, and as much as she doesn't want to, she still feels the attraction.  With Dawson in town for the rodeo, all she can do is hope to avoid him until he leaves again.  But Dawson has no intention of leaving this time...he has a daughter who needs a stable home and he's found a new career...right in Marietta, living in the house Sage has coveted.   Dawson is ready to settle down, and Sage is someone he's never quite gotten over.  Is there any chance for them this time around?  Can Sage trust Dawson with her heart again?   Promise Me, Cowboy is a quick, entertaining romance!  We get to know Sage quickly, and are privy to her inner thoughts and secrets.  I really liked Sage, she managed to move on from her time with Dawson, and  she didn't dwell on how things turned out.  Until she sees him again...   It would be so easy to judge Dawson on our initial introduction to him, but Promise Me, Cowboy reminds the reader that things aren't always what they appear on the surface, and it is worth the time and effort to dig a little deeper.  In her embarrassment over the situation, Sage was quick to judge and run from Dawson.  From my understanding of Sage in Promise Me, Cowboy, this is not how Sage usually reacts to things that happen!   Everyone does make mistakes, and what ever the reason for them, Promise Me, Cowboy gives us hope that depite this, there is hope for love.  C. J. not only takes us into Sage and Dawson's relationship, we get little glimpses of the relationship between Sage and her father, her parents' relationship, Dawson's relationship with his mother and others.  It was really great to be back in Marietta once again and get a look at what other characters from previous Cooper Mountain Rodeo books are up to now...as well as hints of things to come.  C. J. gives us enough secrecy and intrigue that I really hope some of that is revisited in future books!   Promise Me, Cowboy is a sweet romance with some well developed characters that I'd recommend to any romance reader!

5 years ago Dawson fell in love with Sage without even realizing it. He was changing his ways from love 'em and leave 'em to befriend, follow and almost worship. There was only one little problem and she had his ring on her finger. Five years later he's worked hard to make some changes in his life and there's someone else who is going to have a say in his future. Will Sage come back and be a part? Or will the fates not work in Dawson's favor? There is so much that I want to say about this book, but in order to not give much away I will say this, pick it up. Believe me once you do you won't be able to put it down. This is a story of broken trust and forgiveness. Sage's battles are so internalized and Dawson's love so real... CJ Carmichael makes you feel for them both and want nothing but the best for these guys while showing that love may not be perfect, there are definitely bumps but in the end it's all SO worth it.

Sage and Dawson fell in love, or so Sage thought until Dawson's wife Gina showed up with a gun.  Sage left and returned home to Marietta, Monatana and gave up riding in rodeos.  In the five years that have passed she's since become a chocolatier and has long given up on Dawson. Or so she thinks until he shows up in her store... This novella kept me on my toes.  I really did not know what was going to happen next and all I knew was the pages were flying by and I still had a million questions not just about what had gone down between Sage and Dawson, but also about Sage's sisters, Dawson and his mother, Sage's parents, and so on.  While most of my questions were answered, I am so intrigued by some of the other characters in here that I must simply read more about them.  I also had a very strong hankering for chocolate but since all I had available was Hershey's milk chocolate which is normally is nothing to sneeze at, it wasn't like the gourmet chocolate I was reading about, so I had to go without.   I'm not sure what made me drool more; the descriptions Sage gave about Dawson, or the chocolate she hand made.  Either way you'll be wanting to read a lot more about Marietta and it's inhabitants and the Carrigans.  It was great to see Chelsea again and I can't wait to read about Jenny and Colton.  I'm ready to go back to the Copper Mountain Rodeo is Marietta, Montana and I hope you are too!

Five years ago, Sage Carrigan found herself staring down the barrel of a gun when she made the mistake of sleeping with Dawson O’Dell.  They met on the rodeo circuit and he had failed to tell her that he was married.  Until one day, when he asked her to come back to his bed, his wife found them in a compromising position.  Shortly after that encounter, Sage got hurt during a rodeo and decided to not only say goodbye to the rodeo scene, but to cowboys altogether.   Sage, now twenty nine years old and living in Marietta, Montana, owns and runs a chocolate shop.  It’s a far stretch from her rodeo days and not what her father wanted for her, but she needed to get away from the rodeo circuit.  The day she walked away from the rodeo, she also took with her some secrets.  One of those secrets being Dawson O’Dell.  She had thought that Dawson was tucked nicely into her past until he comes strolling into her chocolate shop.  It’s hard enough keeping secrets in a small town, but with Dawson in the area will the secrets that Sage has tried so hard to hide make their way to the surface?  And now Dawson is talking about quitting the rodeo scene and making Marietta home for him and his daughter.   Dawson is more determined than ever to prove himself to Sage.  He has waited five years to apologize to her and would do anything to have her love him again.  But can she forgive him for what he’s done to her in the past and believe the promises he’s making to her now?   Promise Me, Cowboy is the third book in the Copper Mountain Rodeo Series.  It’s an easy read full of love and emotion.  I really enjoyed this book.  The story was so well written and the characters were relatable.  The author had a way of making me feel like I was right there in Marietta with them.  I highly recommend this book (and all of the books in the series).   They are all fun, easy reads that you will not want to put down until you reach the very end!

Book #3 in the Copper Mountain Rodeo novella series, is another winner! This series has me anticipating every book that comes out. C.J. Carmichael's Marry Me, Cowboy captivated me from the beginning. Backtrack 5 years-Our heroine Sage Carrington(a rodeo barrel racer) had NO idea our hero Dawson O'Dell(a rodeo cowboy) was married when she fell in love with him and made love with him. Right after the fact Dawson's wife walks in and points a shotgun at her, both embarrassing and humiliating Sage flees naked with her clothes in her arms. The next day distracted while competing Sage injures herself and goes back to her hometown Marietta, Montana to live giving up the barrel racing to opening up a chocolate shop. 5 years later Dawson shows up in Marietta, Montana to settle down and reconnect with Sage whom he fell in love with all those years ago. Sage is NOT very forgiving at first but you can't help but to hope it will eventually work out. Dawson is one determined man and throw in a adorable 5 year old Savannah(Dawson's daughter), and a divorce that still isn't final makes a interesting read. You need to read the book to see how this story turns out, you will not be disappointed! All the books in this Copper Mountain Rodeo Series that have been released so far have been a sure hit with me. Must reads by very talented authors! I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.

Five years later can Sage forgive Dawson. Sage now has her chocolate shop in her hometown. Content with her life, in walks Dawson as their new town police officer. They had a fling when they were both in the rodeo circuit. Can they learn to forgive their past mistakes. This is story of forgiveness and moving forward in life. The characters drew me in immediately. This is a fun quick read with romance, forgiveness and the rodeo. Highly recommend.

This is a wonderful story! Sage and Dawson have a history from back when she was a barrel racer on the rodeo circuit. Things ended badly and Sage was left feeling betrayed. Five years later Dawson shows back up with an apology, but will it be enough? I love how Sage has such a strong sense of morals and values and she holds true to them no matter what seems to be thrown at her. Dawson at times comes across a bit egotistical, but yet with a very sweet side. I loved seeing how they interacted considering their history. By the end of the book I was really wanting more. I didn't want the story to end. I would love to keep reading about Sage, Dawson, Savannah, and their families.

Another Excellent  Copper Mountain Rodeo series novella.  Promise me, Cowboy by CJ Carmichael.  Loved the characters in this book excellent Sage and Dawson, she had left the Rodeo and owns and runs the town's chocolate shop and he's in his last rodeo and wants to  settle down.  Heartfelt emotions and great dialogue in this second chance at love novella.  Looking forward to more books in this series and  by CJ Carmichael.   I would recommend this book to everyone.

Five years ago, a cowboy had stolen Sage Carrigan's heart. It all ended when she found out Dawson O'Dell was married. Now, he was in town for the Copper Mountain Rodeo. Little did Sage know, Dawson had planned to move to Marietta Montana to be closer to her and raise his daughter, Savannah, in a more stable lifestyle. Sage is content with her life now and running her chocolate shop and doesn't want anything to do with Dawson. Dawson is quitting the rodeo circuit and ready to settle down. A couple things stand in their way of moving on. How will they resolve them? And, will they finally find love after all these years? This was a sweet quick story filled with lots of emotion.
