Putting it all back together

Larry McMillian was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, where he grew up in a loving but dysfunctional household with three brothers and both parents. Exposed early to gambling, violence, and drug culture, Larry still excelled in school, earning honor roll status and running cross-country at Henry Ford High School. After a brief stint in the U.S. Army, disillusionment led him back to Detroit, where he began selling drugs and eventually became addicted to crack cocaine.
