True love never dies.

In just a few days a new arrival at Selene's high school will turn her entire world upside down. She's never met anyone so attractive--or so mysterious--before this, but Jace's unyielding insistence that they've known each other for decades can't be denied--not given how familiar he feels to her.

In the hidden world of gods and fairies what you don't know can get you killed faster than anything else and only those you love have any chance of saving you.

About the Author

Dean Murray discovered the joys of reading at a young age and unknowingly ingested large doses of romance along with his science fiction and fantasy. By the time he realized what had happened it was too late to reverse the process and he spent his formative years (while his peers were still convinced that girls had cooties) trying to convince one specific girl to be his girlfriend to no avail.

As fate would have it, he's incredibly grateful that he failed in his attempts in second grade because it meant that he was able to eventually find his real happily ever after with his wife Katie to whom he's been happily married for more than six years.

Dean is the author of more than thirty published novels (and a host of short stories), which collectively have more than half a million copies in circulation, and he's currently writing six books a year in an effort to create the perfect, larger than life romance story—which he's pretty sure involves either vampire, werewolves, fairies or shape shifters.

Interesting idea. However writer clearly writes dialog for an age group he appears uncomfortable with and has no clear understanding of how they would converse in the first place...14 year old girls simply wouldn't talk the way they do in this book. Too bad...

Good plot but very slow and boring at times I wanted to skip pages just to see if it would get better. I ended up quitting the book on page 100 and something because I got so bored.

A different twist on "GODS". This book kept me entertained and wanting more details. I love the friendship of Selene and Kat! I love how they come together thru the situation. Ari and selene have the normal sister relationship that keeps you laughing. But out of everything you spend a good portion of the book what and when is going to happen to Jace and Selene. I read the first two books in one day and cant wait for the next book to come out!

I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review. This is the story of Selene, a high school girl who has inner strength and wisdom, but is trying to keep her head down and be as invisible as she can be until high school is over. This is mainly because her dad works at the local factory that is owned by the father of the bane of her life, Sandra. Sandra is a bully and content to pick on Selene. This appears as nothing more than a spoilt little rich girl to start with but, as is typical in Dean's stories, nothing is quite as it seems. These characters are all multi-dimensional with very real fears, laughs and loves. There is no insta-love in this story (thank goodness) although there is a reconnection that is made. The back story is given to you in a drip feed fashion so that it doesn't overpower the current story but you are still getting the information needed for a deep understanding of what is happening. This is a gripping story that will draw you in but one warning, it does come with a cliffhanger ending that will sucker-punch you and leave you gasping. If you like paranormal romance that comes complete with intense emotion then I can highly recommend this one. Another fantastic series by Dean Murray starts with a bang!

I do not know how Dean Murray comes up with this stuff! Reborn is amazing. This book opened my mind to new ideas and possibilities way beyond my feeble imagination. Selene and Jace seem to have a connection / Love / history that brings to mind Romeo and Juliet. Selene and Kat have a friendship / sisterhood / shared history that is deeper than what appears on the surface. Selene and Ari are sisters in every sense of the word. They love / protect / and at the same time "hate" as all sisters do. The relationships that Dean Murray creates are real and believable but somehow become deeper and more heartfelt with his writing. This book is full of facts, backstory, and new thoughts and ideas of processing what we thought we knew of life, the gods of old, and even science fiction and fantasy romance. I will definitely re-read this book, because the details are so inventive I will want to remember and “understand” each and every one before I will go to the next book in the series. If I could ask anything of this book, I would ask Mr. Murray to write FASTER. I cannot wait to continue this story and find what is in store for these wonderful characters and the new characters that are introduced on the last page of the book. Yes, the "cliffhanger" at the end of the book is thought provoking and opens up a new "complication" for the next, and hopefully, many more books in this series. Great job Mr. Murray, can't wait for the next one!

I have been a fan of Dean Murray's writing since I stumbled upon his Reflections Universe a while back, and was so excited to read Reborn, the first installment in The Awakening series.   Selene is an ordinary high school student, doing her best to get through life until she can graduate and move on to better things. The arrival of two mysterious new students, Jace and Kat change her life in ways she never dreamed possible. Selene must trust her instincts and take Jace and Kat at their word if she is going to survive her new world and keep herself, her sister Ari and her Dad from losing everything at the same time.  I read this book in a little over 24 hours, it captured my interest immediately and I didn't want to stop reading. To me, it is one of those books where you get so into it that you want to live in their world. I went back and re-read at a slower pace and really absorbed all of the detail in this book. Dean Murray has a fantastic way of developing his characters so that you really get to know them, to feel as though they are old friends or enemies. The book ends with a big cliff hanger, which had me going over to his blog to find out when the next book will be out because I cannot wait to find out what happens next!   I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
