Gloria remembers her mom giving her a paperback romance novel when she was a teenager. It was a pretty exciting book, filled with suspense, love, and an overall excellent storyline. That was it. She was hooked. Gloria began to devour these romance stories that varied over the years from sweet to sultry, consuming thousands of books and stories. Each time she finished reading a novel, the desire to write her own grew stronger. As ideas for books were born, her go to genre was contemporary romance. Why romance? She simply loves it. That's why she writes it. What is there not to love about falling in love and finding that special person to share your life with? Who doesn't wish for a little passion, butterflies fluttering in your stomach, and that happily ever after? In Gloria's eyes, that's what it's all about.

One very long angst novel. She's a major success in photography (awards, etc.) but she's a freaking mess in her personal life. A few more whaps upside the head by fish might help. And I couldn't figure out why He likes/loves her and keeps coming back for more. Saint or masochist.
This new series by Gloria Hermann contained a lot of "character development" for our heroine, so frequently alluded to as lacking in many of online reviews. This is a stand-alone story (approx. 197 pgs), but I imagine reading the series in order will enhance the whole story line. The second in the series was just recently published as Puppy Love. Molly is really tortured by self-doubt and insecurities, despite her professional reputation and unwavering, supportive 'besties'. While her struggle was aggravating to me, I can freely admit to having friends who've battled similar insecurities. The storyline focuses more on her internal struggles than on action or mystery subplots. Her foil? A hunky fisherman who could thaw a glacier with any of his qualities: attractiveness, thoughtfulness, attention, creativity and more. Of course we end on the promise of a HEA - still not a cliffhanger, though. If you want a romance, here it is. If you want sheet heat, here it is (not raunchy, but not too tame, either). Friendship? Got it. Gorgeous scenery descriptions? Got it. Satisfying HEA? Yup, here it is! Happy reading, L G M
