My mother and I lived with my grandma Baybe, my aunt Julie, and her children. The summers were extra hot because we did not have any air conditioning and the winter was extra cold because the tiny 500 foot square board house did not have any insulation. Since there was no indoor plumbing, we would bathe in a big tin tub on the outside in the summer and boil water to add with the cold water in the

winter. No one complained and all of us were as happy as children could possibly be. The air was pure and there were no additives or preservatives in the foods we ate.

I really was caught up in the writers' insight into what he needed to do to get ahead in this world and how he overcame many obstacles but stayed focused. This book is a good example of a male role model who did not have one growing up.

I cried and I laughed and in the end I was so happy to see who Chris came to be. This is an author who reached across the regions of my mind to take me home, exposing a world known by many, acknowledged by few. Thank you for each and every realm of emotion.

This is a book that that Men and Women would get something out of it. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. Just reading this book you will know whatever you are going through in life that you can get through it after reading this book.

This book was great! I loved reading about my hometown, 'Beaufort, SC'. I wish that all 'fathers' would read this book to see what a tremendous effect they have on their children's lives and also all young men and women should read this book to see that it doesn't matter where and how you start out in life you can achieve anything you wish if you believe in YOURSELF.

Senior Chief Campbell was on my leadership team during my most recent shipboard assignment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His candor and talent for understanding people is evident in his exceptional book as well as in his superb leadership style. Just as Chris matured into a responsible leader, a caring husband and loving father in Reflections of a Black Man, I witnessed Senior Chief Campbell exhibit those same traits in person. I hope that every reader of this book can learn these same lessons and achieve the same level of success.

I wrote Reflections because little is known of the way we conduct business in the Low-Country of South Carolina and the struggles that we encounter not only to make it in life, but to make it out of the community. Reflections of A Black Man tells this story in a way that many can relate to who had to encounter the same challenges in life

This book is exceptional and well written. The story line was truly a page turner. I especially liked the author's humor and emotions that you could feel and visualize as you read through each chapter. Having gone to school in Savannah and being from the south, there was so much validity to all of his experiences and reflections. A job well done. I too can not wait until the next book is released. Thank you Mr. Campbell for sharing your personal experiences with the world. Keep up the good work!

This book has so much to offer to every american no matter the ethnicity. The author should also think about doing a book tour to promote this book. It shows that a man no matter what your roots are, the bottom line is this 'IF YOU BELIVE THEN YOU CAN ACHIEVE' Again, Mr. Campbell kudos to you for a very well written and documented book. Will there be a follow up? Or reflections of a black man II. Cannot wait. A must read for all. Look out Tavis...............
