About the Author

Isabella Hargreaves writes Romance through the Ages. From tenth century England, to the English Civil War, to Regency London and outback Australia in the 1920s, she has a romance to tell.

Isabella lives in Brisbane Australia with her family and a house full of pets. Her love of history surfaced in childhood when she subscribed to a history magazine for children. Years later she became a historian and now she spends her days researching and writing about Australian people, places and institutions.

When she’s not reading and writing, Isabella loves horse-riding and walking. She dreams of an around-the world trip to indulge these passions.

This is a collection of three short stories. 1 Gentleman to the Rescue Clarissa is about to get married against her will. 2 An Officer and a Gentleman Marianne receives the worst kind of news a woman can have: the death of her beloved son. After that, she has to leave her house and work to be able to survive. 3 A True Gentleman Lady Emma suffers violence from her husband. He is really angry with her because she couldn’t give him an heir. We love Regency times. However, that time was not a good one for women. They were always depending on the male members of their families. But in these stories, the three women are very lucky to have men who are good people and love them no matter what. The three stories are short but enjoyable. They are well-written and enough developed to enjoy them. As they are sweet and clean, everybody can read them. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
