[Rekindled} are two stories that were originally published in the early 1980's as separate books. Both have been out of print for years. This book was her first reissue. Barbara Delinsky has slightly edited these books to reflect the growth in her writing style.I was excited about reading these two stories and maybe looking out for the originals. The first story [Flip Side of Yesterday] was humdrum for me and hard to get into. If this story was better than the one that was written in 1982 I don't think I want to read the first one. It lacked all that a good book shouldn't lack. I was disappointed and was not looking forward to the second story.[Lilac Awakening] started off good. It felt real. It felt believable. The more I read this story the more I enjoyed it. There were parts of it that I found kinda over the top, but all in all I enjoyed it and happy that I hadn't given up on the book.I would have given the first story a rating of 1 staror maybe less. The second closer to 4. I thought it was fair to rate [Rekindled] 3 stars.I will not be looking for [Flip Side of Yesterday]original copy, but will keep my eyes open for [Lilac Awakening] at yard sales or used book stores.
I really enjoyed these 2 short novels. It was hard to put the book down.Very good reading!!
