The last thing Major Jordan Grant expected was to be pulled off his unit's deployment for a civilian mission. But when Titan calls, you answer - especially when the mission is to rescue the younger sister of your childhood best friend.
Moments away from death, NGO nurse Emme France could only pray for a miracle. The last person she expected to see in the smoke and dust was Jordan Grant, her teenage crush and litmus test of all the men she'd dated ever since.
Lying low at Titan's exotic Abu Dhabi headquarters while the media furor around her rescue settles, Emme and Jordan explore a mutual attraction that is no longer young and innocent. Days in the desert paradise ignite desire and blur reality...until they return home, where Jordan rejoins his deployed unit and Emme is left alone to reevaluate her life and priorities.
Their passion was forged in the fires of combat. Will the home fires be enough to keep the burn alive?

About the Author
In 2015, a friend challenged her to complete NaNoWriMo. She dusted off one of the many stories she had started over the years, threw it in the trash, and started all over.
Her debut novel, Stitched Up Heart, released in September 2016. She draws heavily from her own military experience to create authentic characters and personal challenges.
Tarina is still active duty and a single mom of four-year-old twins. Her favorite hobby is sleep. She has delusions of retiring from the military and being a stay-at-home mom.

This story is a standalone novel that is part of the Titan World release in which authors include characters from Cristin Harber’s Titan series. This is Ms. Deaton’s second published book; I have not read her first yet, but it is in my e-reader waiting for me—and I will be reading it soon. Our characters here include protagonists Emme and Jordan; she is a nurse who has been kidnapped while serving in a medical relief program, and Jordan is a childhood friend who is now a major in the Army. Emme’s family hires Titan to rescue her and pulls strings to have Jordan assigned to Titan to help. The plot is realistic and moves quickly. The characters are well developed. I enjoyed the book and plan to read Ms. Deaton’s first book soon.
Was pleasantly surprised with this book. Loved this story and can not wait for the next installment! Great read...steamy sex!
Loved this addition to the Titan World! I laughed and cried through the entire story and always rooted for Jordan to save his "Emme Lou Who". Having the Titan Team of Colby, Cash and Jared there added to the heroics and the laughs! I highlighted many areas in this book so I can return and have a good laugh when I need a pick me up!
I am always cautious when a beloved author opts to participate in a “world” collaboration. Are the characters going to be the same? Is the story going to change because it is now part of another author’s world? I shouldn’t have worried with the new Titan world by Cristin Harber. This new world allows the authors to shine as they normally do, only by adding a few new and interesting characters on both sides of the author equation. Tarina Deaton’s Rescued Heart fits right into both worlds. It has a little less suspense than Stitched Up Heart did, but it is also a novella. There are familiar characters from the Titan world as well as the Combat Hearts world. The story draws you in from the start and doesn’t let up until the very end. Jordan and Emme are well-developed characters and you definitely root for their HEA. This is a great book for fans of realistic military suspense. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novella.
