Samantha Wharton had escaped New York City to settle in Suttontowne and run Imogene's, a quaint and historical eatery, struggling with a devastating painful past. She thought her heart had died along with her family, but when she meets Chase Sutton, the fallen son of the town's founder, she cannot seem to hang onto her bruised and battered heart.

Chase Sutton was tired of being told what to do and whom to know. After the discovery of a devastating family secret, he left his life completely behind and opened up a bait and tackle shop supplying seafood to the local merchants. The simple life suits him fine. It isn't until falls into Samantha's sad eyes that he realizes what he's lost. But how can he offer Samantha a future when he hasn't dealt with his own past?

About the Author

Zoe Dawson is the alter ego of multi-published, bestselling author Karen Anders. Karen started her career because her grandmother gave her a book to read. That book made her fall in love with romance and started her on the trek to get published. She achieved that goal in 1996 with the publication of Jennifer’s Outlaw for Silhouette. Even with eighteen books under her belt, she can’t wait for that next idea, that next exquisite sentence and, of course, the next hero and heroine who fall in love.

Resisting Samantha by Zoe Dawson Hope Parish Series Book Ten Samantha Wharton moved to Suttontowne two years ago to start over. Bringing Imogene's diner back to life was a success—as was being accepted even though she's a Yankee. Life had been going smoothly and suddenly it all changes. Could it be she brought more than this old diner back to life? Chase Sutton left his life of privilege ten years ago to make his own life in the bayou. He is now a success at his business—not so much at life. When he decides to finally make a move on his feelings for Samantha, he realizes he has to make amends with his family—his past—before moving on with his future. What a page-turner of a story. I love all the books in this series but this was really good. There's a bit of the bayou voodoo in the story, a mystery, and more. I like that the romance took time. Their past hurts are too deep to just push aside. I'm looking forward to Jake's story and to see if he can be redeemed. **Sexual content and language
