I get so mad when I buy a book only to find it is a novella. Why can't we be told this up front? Afraid we would not buy it? Then write a whole book.....

The cover is a real draw on Ruining the Rake. Leads right into the story. There are always twists in Michael's stories, and wry (or raucous) humor. In this case, Elinor has a problem -- she doesn't want to marry her elderly uncle's friend. Her solution is to get herself 'ruined' by having the local bad boy (termed a rake in Regency London) destroy her reputation. In return, she'll help him win the heart of another woman. Things don't go as planned. This is not a damsel-in-distress situation, Elinor takes the initiative. It's a novella -- easy afternoon read.
