Sarah and Sam have the perfect friendship. They are yin and yang. They would probably have happily continued like that forever if Sam hadn’t manipulated Sarah into a wine and food competition and then said that the competition was for couples but who would believe that he would date her? While he didn’t mean it in a nasty way, the comment nonetheless rankled Sarah. So, she bought clothes for the contest, ditched her glasses for contacts, and showed Sam a side of her he’d never seen. In proximity to each other for that week, Sarah and Sam begin to realize that they have feelings for each other that will probably end their friendship. Pamela Gibson has provided a sweet, well-written romance, filled with wine and tantalizing dishes for the romantic foodie. I liked the relationship between Sam and Sarah because it seemed really natural. I could easily imagine Sam raiding Sarah’s fridge and complaining about his relationships. Likewise, it was very easy to feel the sense of loss when Sarah realized that Sam had gone too far in manipulating her (he has a secret that’s not revealed until late in the novel) and that the friendship was over. All of those times when you would call a friend to share tidbits or bake their favorite cookies and not be able to share. For this reader, there was just enough humor and I never felt like the drama went sulky or angst-ridden; it just seemed natural with no going overboard. Overall, a quick delicious read! While this is part of a series, it worked very well as a standalone. (But after this delicious offering, I’m going to read the others!) I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The most precious moments in life, are the ones we never knew we were looking for. With Sam and Sarah, Ms. Gibson entangled readers in the perfect example of that adage. Sauvignon Blanc to Sigh For is a nostalgic ode to friendship blended into a flavorful story of love that lingers on long after the last tentative sip of romance. Less is more and simple and sweet is what Sarah and Sam's long over do foray into love delivers.

This is the 4th book in the Love In Wine Country series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment and understanding, I recommend reading series in order. Sarah & Sam have been best friends for so long, they do not have room to think of more. Now, with this sudden surprise he has thrown her, she is re-thinking everything. She hates that he is trying to control her life and she is so done. Sam does not know where these feelings are coming from. He only knows he has never thought of Sarah this way before. The future looks bleak without her in it. Interesting story. I felt drawn to both characters early on. I was rooting for them almost right away. This series is just so sweet and the pace moves right along. ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review.
