My Review 4.6 Star Review – SEAL My Destiny I recommend this book. Luke is back from overseas but is having a hard time adjusting. He meets Julie on a beach. After there chemistry burns like a wild fire they spend one night together. Then he turns all weird and runs. Little did they know that they were destined to meet again at a wedding. They try to be together but Luke is a broken man and fights his way through the day to stay sane. Can Julie put up with that and give him the space he needs or will his issues just rip them apart? When the going gets tough will Luke fight for Julie or just allow her to walk away? I found myself hating and loving Luke at different times in the book. Some times I could have smacked him with a brick but once you better understand his story you will love him in the end.

SEAL Brotherhood Book Six When the man Julie Christensen had a brief affair with shows up on her doorstep as her brother's final groomsmen, she knows fate has plans for them. Luke Paulsen is wary of getting involved with a woman after the way his previous romance ended. During the wedding of Luke's sister and Julie's brother, the two are forced to be together and draw close again. After the wedding, they go their own separate ways, but each is aware that they will meet again. Meanwhile, during her classes Julie is dealing with a parent she suspects of inappropriate behaviors. We meet another Team 3 SEAL with a murky past and the woman made to soothe him. *I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I found a few books about Navy Seals and though it is not the kind of  books that I normally read. I Decided to get into a few of them.. Since I grew up with a father who stayed in the navy for 42 years, I was familiar with living in a military family.  World war 2, Korean, Viet Nam, Gulf War and after 9/11.  I lived in San Diego for many years. I Knew Navy Seal's train there.   Never knew what these men went through.   How their Military lives mingled with  their personal lives.  This book and others I have read, have shown me true hero's,  They found love  when they knew their lives were damaged by what they have seen. The training they do,  The Lives they lead on short notice to pack and go,  Never knowing if they would be coming back.  Trusting their team, every man doing the job he was trained for.  I cried, I laughed, and and I prayed for them....I'm sure a great deal of searcher went into this story..  Read this book, then read some more that are out there.  Be proud of the Men and women who serve to keep us safe.  Even though this is just a story.. Try reading  "The man who killed Osama Bin Laden"  I did,  Get the inside picture of what Military life is all about..   I've read a few books, written by men who were former Seal's.   About how they train to be a Seal.  What it takes from them.   How some family's don't stay together.  How hard it is on the wives, and also the man who has to leave his family.  They live by a code of conduct,

I have received this book from the touring host for an honest review. PTSD is the main focus in this book, with Navy Seal Luke Paulsen suffering from it for two years; trying to cope in his work; making the best of his situation. When he met Julie on the beach, sparks flew immediately. The passionate, erotic kind that caused them not to say much but pass all civil conversation and get right to it. Their passion drew them closer and they had a great time, but it seemed that it was all it would be, just that. But as time passed we learn about their heartache, missing each other on a deeper level than just the physical. Not knowing how to communicate their heart to each other.  This yo-yo relationship had you guessing and you wonder if the two would ever work it out and it be more than just good sex. And believe me, it was good sex. Toe curling, sheet warming, sweaty sex.  With a good supportive system, Luke learned to control the night sweats, being out of control in given situations, nightmares that haunted him, struggling to sleep; all symptoms that tried to break him down. He showed that he could take orders and work with the psychiatrist to get a better handle on his life and the decisions he had to make. A strong character that shows his vulnerability and determination through his struggles. His relationships with his team was interesting to read, and you could feel the camaraderie.   Julie's career was in jeopardy when faced with the father of an abused child, who clearly meant her harm. Hoping she could work it out with him, her plans back fired and she was abducted. I liked her disclosure statement in the beginning of the book, using it as a barometer in her relationship with Luke, if you could call what they had a relationship. She was a smart, tentative young woman with a love for her young pupils.  A good story, but I felt at times that some of the scenes were choppy, lacking flow as you moved from one scene to another. Although the focus was primarily on the PTSD and their relationship, I felt that the story could use more suspense in the specific scenes; like for instance when he and his team had to race into the house to save a young bride about to be raped by this evil man. It was only glanced over and you couldn't really connect with the seriousness of the issue.  Even during the time that Julie was abducted not much was mentioned as if it were skimmed over and the death of the other woman didn't effect her, even if they knew each other well. No aftershock or even a mention of the ordeal as we plunged right into the next scene. Surely Julie had to have thoughts about that? Especially in the light of the topic. However, nothing was mentioned. Overall a good story with enough passion and romance to keep turning over the pages.
