Professor Audrey Graham shouldn't be alive. But she didn't walk away from the accident that should've taken her life. She shouldn't have ever walked again according to the doctors. But after two years of physical therapy and countless surgeries, she's got a second lease on life. First stop? Camp Firefly Falls to try and catch up on some of the living she never did before her accident.

Firefighter Hudson Lowell shouldn't be alive. In the wake of losing two members of his team in a structure fire gone wrong, he's been unable to work, unable to pull himself out of the survivor's guilt. In a last ditch effort to snap him out of it, his family surprises him with a 2 week reunion session at Camp Firefly Falls, reminder of a simpler, better time. The last thing he expects to find is the woman he helped cut out of a snarled up wreck of a car two years before.

As sparks ignite between rescuer and rescuee, Audrey finally gets the chance to repay her hero. But can she convince this proud, stubborn man that life is still worth living? Or will Hudson let this chance at happiness slip through his fingers?

Sam and Audrey are taking their vacation at Camp Firefly Falls. Sam is reliving her summer camp experiences and Audrey is doing things off her bucket list. Audrey reconnects with Hudson the fireman who saved her life two years ago. Hudson is on leave because of a terrible fire 3 months ago that killed one of his friends and left a 2nd one in a coma all this time. Strong characters and well written story.

Makes me want to go back to summer camp! I really enjoyed this book in the Camp Firefly Falls series. It brought back memories of when I went to camp, and made me envious of all the activities for adults they had! Definitely need to keep the tissues handy for this has a lot of funny parts, but also some beautifully written, heart-wrenching sections. I would recommend this book to everyone; and can't wait to read more in the series! Please note: I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.

I love the Camp Firefly Falls series and I adore Kait Nolan. When Kait posted she was going to write a book in this series I jumped on it with total abandon. And once again Kait does not disappoint. The main characters are flawed yet lovable, flawed yet not cynical. They bring the best of themselves and the worst to the story. And it's within this delightfully messy relationship that they find what they are looking for. They just might not realize it. Audrey Graham is a brainiac who lived the life her parents designed for her. She isn't bitter about missing out on the experiences other people had growing up. She loves her work. She loves herself. And I love her for it. Audrey's damage comes in the form of a body that had to be pinned back together after a horrific car accident. I understand some of Audrey's physical and mental pain from my own chronic health issue. And I was thankful to read a character who wasn't bitter about the physical limitations her life has AFTER. Audrey is, however, holding a flame for a man she only knows by voice. The man who talked her into hanging on while her body was released from the wreck. The voice she held on to during countless hours of therapy. A voice that continues to urge Audrey forward. Who knew that when she attended a sleepaway camp for adults she would hear that voice in person. Hudson Lowell had a normal life, growing up with family and friends who loved him. Experiences that helped shape him into the kind of person it takes to be a firefighter. He's returning to Camp Firefly Falls as an adult, minus his best friends. One had been taken by an accident on the job. The other in a coma, the result of that same accident. Only Hudson was left whole in body. It was his soul that was damaged. He's also suffering from PTSD (though the author doesn't dwell on this point). And he's at camp under duress. I don't want to give more away. In true romance fashion, sparks fly, feelings are had, relationships are forged and tested. And at the end of the day, love prevails. And in more ways than one, love heals. If you enjoyed camp as a kid, or an adult, and you love complex characters and happy ever afters, this book (and this series) is for you!

Summer camp for adults, that's a concept I think I could enjoy. Second Chance Summer is another winner for Kait. A great romance that also deals with hard life issues. Through Kait's great story telling you get a feel for the struggles Audrey and Hudson have and are going through, Thank you Kait for another great story. You keep writing them and I'll keep reading them. I received this book as an ARC and have chosen to review it.

This is so much more than just a romance book. The characters are so humane, complex, complicated and lovable. Their strength and ability to overcome adversity is totally admirable. Totally worth the time and lost sleep. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I started reading Kait Nolan's books a few months ago and she has become one of my favorite authors. Second Chance Summer is another winner. I enjoy the way she tells the story from the point of view of both main characters. I've never been to summer camp but Kait Nolan's version sounds like fun!

Audrey Graham was broken in a wreck that should have taken her life, or at the very best, crippled her. Firefighter Hudson Lowell responded to that accident call and helped cut Audrey out of her mangled car. More importantly, Hudson help Audrey's hand and talked to her during the rescue and quite possibly is the reason she's alive. After two years of grueling physical therapy, Audrey can still hear Hudsons voice in times of desperation. Although not 100%, Audrey can walk pretty well on her on, but the main recovery is that Audrey wants to experience everything she missed out on in life as a sheltered genius whose entire life had been focused on academic success! Hudson Lowell is suffering the worst kind of survivors grief after a devastating fire that took the life of one of his best friends and has left another barely hanging on to life. His friends and family are so worried about him that his mother enrolled him in an adult getaway at the camp where he spent so many happy summers as a boy. When Hudson and Aubrey reunite at Camp Firedly Falls the sparks fly almost immediately. But can they overcome their pain to let their hearts heal? Aubrey says yes, but can she convince Hudson that he deserves a happy life? Things begin to look up but when his last childhood friend finally succumbs to his injuries Hudson runs away! What will Audrey do?

Second Chance Summer combines the nostalgic feelings with a difficult subject and a lot of humor and joy. It was like I was there at camp. Like I did all of the activities and enjoyed every moment of it. I specially loved the Disney movie references! Did you know for example that Aurora only has eighteen lines of dialog in the entire movie? If you haven’t read anything yet by Kait Nolan, this is your chance to experience how good she is. Second Chance Summer will take you to camp, where you laugh, sit by the campfire, do all sort of activities and discover who you are. But most important, it will let you fall in love.

OMG I loved this so much. Two wonderful characters that come together after both going through traumatic situations. I have read a few of the Camp Firefly Falls books and enjoyed them but this one is by far the best to date. The camp setting is fabulous and the emotion had me shedding a few tears. Totally enjoyable read from start to end.

I loved this story. Audrey and Hudson have baggage but it isn't the usual bad relationship making them wary of romance. That was refreshing. How they originally met and how they ended up at Camp Firefly Falls is also different and interesting. There was physical attraction between Audrey and Hudson but that isn't the main focus of their relationship. They are truly interested in each other on so many levels. Without giving anything away, the nature of their relationship makes the depth of their feelings, after such a short time, believable. If you are looking for a well-written story with interesting characters that will make you laugh and cry, look no further. Second Chance Summer is a fabulous book by a talented author.

One of my most favorite Kait Nolan books!!! Touching, heartbreaking and loving...Audrey and Hudson will open your heart and let them right in. This might even be my favorite (I say that about all her books!) book and it has now made me see that I need to read the entire series. Definitely a 5 star book and a great, quick read!!!

When I first heard of the series about summer camp for adults I was intrigued. So I went back and started reading the books from last summer. Although I didn't love them, when I picked up this one, by one of my fave authors, I was pleasantly surprised. Of course, I shouldn't have been because Kait Nolan can write a great story. Audrey was in an accident that caused her a lot of pain and suffering, including rehab to learn to walk again. Hudson is a firefighter who suffers from a form of PTSD after losing one of his fellow firefighters while at a fire. They are both at this camp together. I don't want to get into the details of the story because you need to read this one yourself. It's a great story with believable connections and so much pain.
