Secret Love is Book 2 in the Love Stings Series by Evan Grace and can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. Secret Love is the story of Damien and Carrington. He is an undercover DEA agent, she is a dancer trying to pass her nursing boards. They meet at a club named “The Thirsty Beaver” (I’m actually a 12 year old boy in a middle aged woman’s body and this made me giggle the first few times I read the name of the club). As the title suggests, they have a “Secret Love” that we watch unfold. Evan Grace writes characters with depth. Carrington broke my heart at times and I wanted to give her a hug and remind her that life gets better and to remind her that she IS loved and is NOT alone. Damien is such a strong alpha male yet in touch with his feelings. He made me swoon just a bit. I was able to read this book in 1 sitting and I absolutely recommend all of Ms. Grace’s books to my friends. If you haven’t read book 1 in the Love Stings series, you really should. Some of the events that we see from Carrington’s POV, are seen in Book 1 from her cousin Abby’s POV. It’s a really cool way to read.
