Overview

Silver Bells at Moonglow by Deborah Garner

Christmas at the Timberton Hotel arrives each year with a unique set of guests, some returning, and some new. When this holiday brings a celebrity seeking reprieve, sisters who are distant yet closer to each other than they think, a widow approaching a new horizon, and an eclectic smattering of local townsfolk and visiting relatives, the season is certain to be eventful. Add in a hint of romance and there's more than snow in the air around the small Montana town.

Elegant decor and exquisite cuisine from resident artist and chef, Mist, form a backdrop to much needed camaraderie, bringing strangers and friends together. When the last note of Christmas carols has faded away, the soft whisper of silver bells from the front door's wreath will usher guests and townsfolk alike back into the world with hope for the coming year.

Very descriptive and insightful. Love reading this book so much that I didn't want it to end.

E While I enjoy the characters of the story, this was too much like the one I just read and I'm not thrilled to have paid for a story that was almost a duplicate of the last one. Charming yes but not very original

I was hooked on the Moonglow Cafe Series, but these Christmas editions especially warm my heart. I pray that that the characters come back again & again for Christmas at the hotel. Old stories, new stories, it's magical. Mist is magical. oh and I love the cookie exchange recipes!

This novella is a perfect holiday story filled with kindness and a just a small hint of romance. This book will put you in the holiday mood with the mention of all the delicious cookies and the goodness that is spread throughout. The way Ms. Garner writes you can picture just how the hotel is decorated, how inviting each guest room is, and your mouth will water with anticipation for the cookies while your nose is surely smelling them baking in the oven. There is so much description in the book that you feel like you are living vicariously through the different characters. You get the feeling you are there in the small charming town that welcomes visitors and makes them feel like they belong there. I recommend Deborah Garner’s books to anyone looking for a sweet clean read with just a hint of romance mixed in. A refreshing read!

Even if you have not read the previous book about the Moonglow Cafe at the Timberton hotel, you will find the Christmas spirit captured in these pages. This is the perfect book to curl up with in a fleecy blanket or in front of a fire. Some would call it light romance, there is a touch of magic about it. While reading you will find yourself smelling fresh baked cookies and humming your favorite carol. Mist has the ability to understand people's moods and needs and maybe even a bit of their dreams. She and Betty make a perfect team with room for the talents of others. Altogether it creates a perfect Christmas. I hope we return again and again. Bonus: a smorgasbord of delectible dessert recipes! I voluntarily reviewed this book.

I loved Mistletoe at Moonglow so much that when I received this as a gift I read it right away! This is such a feel good series-but it can be read as a stand alone. Just like Mistletoe at Moonglow this is a novella and is a quick and oh so satisfying read. Mist just seems to know how ro make everything perfect--from the meals she prepares--to the way she knows just what will make each person feel right at home in their hotel rooms. She also has a knack for making people happy--even when they are not. The cookie exchange takes place at the Timberton Hotel----and guess what recipes are in the back of this book!!

Awfully similar to first book. Best scene was the routing of the paparazzi. I was looking forward to a longer series but changed my mind after this entry. Little originality.

This story could have been less descriptive and more entertaining. If the story was supposed to meld the sights and flavors of the season, the author truly missed the mark. This story lacked what makes other holiday stories endearing. A little romance, a little intrigue, and a lot of warmth and humor.
