~Reviewed by FRANCESCA & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog There are always books or authors that will ruin you for all others.  L.H. Cosway truly has a gift for writing compelling characters and unique stories.  With every book I read by her I realize more and more that she is quite simply one of my favorite authors!  And she has ruined me for all others.  Especially with her stellar heroes that make my heart skip a beat and my panties melt away when they get all possessive and alpha (or just when they breathe) and her heroines that just make me want to go out with them for a drink and make them my BFF. SIX OF HEARTS is compelling, funny and entertaining, deep and emotional and on fire hot!  I’ve fallen hard for Jay Fields and want to keep him locked up in my basement of book boyfriends.  You need to meet him and fall in love with him as well.  Jay Fields is charismatic, sexy, with a dash of arrogance and a heart of gold. I don’t want to give too much away from the story but what you need to know is that Jay is an illusionist.  Or read magician.  Very much like Criss Angel (profession, not the looks).  He’s seeking revenge from a childhood gone wrong and he’s seeking love.  One of the best friends to lovers stories I’ve read in a while.  I loved everything about their developing relationship. I was completely enraptured from the very first page.  Jay and Matilda’s quirky personalities that work so well together.  Their sexual chemistry and the sexual tension in the beginning that was revving up all my buttons.  And when they finally get together *mind blown with excitement*.  Try not to salivate on your e-reader. If you only have time to read one book this week or this month or whenever really… This is it!  It’s funny that when I love a book so much there’s hardly that much to say.  But really, it can all be summarized with “You have to read this, because this book is amazing!”  End of story.  I may want to re-read it now after I finished writing this because I want to experience it all over again!

5 Big, Fat, Juicy Stars, no questions asked!!!!!! Ok, so I guess it's official now!!! L.H. Cosway is one of my new favourite authors, hands down!!!! Painted Faces was my first book from this author and it rocked my boat, it was soo good! The Nature of Cruelty was my second book and Six of Hearts is my third! Three brilliant strikes my friends and poof, guess who is now hooked on this author's work!!!!!  I love Cosway's books because: ¿ the characters are original ¿ the plots are extremely good and elaborate without being boring ¿ the stories are standalones with good happy endings( no cliff hangers, sad or vague endings - real life is toooo much without hea's so I want a happy ending at least in the books I read)  ¿ there are No love triangles ( which is good because I am getting sooo sick and tired of them) Six of Hearts is a brilliant story with a complex plot and a dash of mistery. You just can't help to love it! The story is cool, contemporary, funny, original, misterious with a sweet, hot, steamy romance, beautifully portrayed characters, some bad guys and good revenge. It really does has it all! The story is original and you feel how well documented is the author when it comes to illusionists, magic tricks and ilussion shows. The hero is an illusionist and he is not just an amateur and you can actually see that from his actions and his beautiful shows ( which are described so superbly that I could actually see them in the back of my mind while I was getting these goosebumbs on my skin).  The actual plot it's not just about an illusionist and a girl who fall in love, nope sir, it's so much more than that. It's about bad guys and good innocent people who are avenged through some well planned, masterful, but not evil revenge and about a sweet, caring love who runs deep. The romance is extremely hot, but sweet, with lustful attraction and quick, but not that to quick it's almost unbelievable, falling in love. Jay, the hero, is this hot, 'I need to fan myself and change my panties' specimen of a man, sweet, kind, devoted, charming, but misterious, extremelly smart and talented illusionist. The way he talks just make you weak at the knees. Of course some of his actions toward the heroine will piss you off, but when he explains it all you'll understand him 100%.  Matilda, the heroine, is this funny, sweet, loyal, cute girl and I can see why the hero fell for her.  You will absolutely love this story!!!!!!!! Read this!  Enjoy this! I highly recommend this!   *** this book  was a gift from my best friend so i need to tell her: 'Love ya , sis" *** this review can also be found on goodreads

LH never fails to create characters that we come to care for. Nor does she ever fail to create a world that we can relate too, no matter how fictional or outlandish. It's for these two reasons that she will always be an automatic "buy" for me and I will recommend her books to everyone. Six of Hearts is no different in terms of the quality that LH puts out. I will say that the tone was very different. Not better or worse than any of her previously written books, just very different. I think everyone can agree that while she does have a great deal of irreverence and joy in her novels, a lot of them can also give this sober feeling. I think it's because the feelings that the characters we care for feel are genuine, therefore making the reading experience genuine. It's strange though, because SoH dealt with some heavy issues. So why did I feel light and happy throughout the book? Which may just be the genius of the writing and the "point" of the story. I mean, one of our main characters is an illusionist after all. Maybe the point is that even though a lot of the events that have happened, happen, and the feelings these events evoke, there is a cheeriness and joy to this story that I wasn't expecting. The friendship between the two main characters (like a lot of LH's characters) is my absolute favorite. I love the slow progression into lust and then hopefully, love. Added to that, Matilda was just so freaking adorable. I swear, I totally have a little crush on her. She's so naive, but trying not to be. She's so dang earnest. I seriously love her. And holy crap, Jay. Good God, the feels he will give you...let me just say (without giving too much away and without sounding like a bloodthirsty psychopath) he believes he's getting revenge. No Sir, it's much more heroic than that. You are getting justice. I think I was squealing, gasping, cursing, and just straight up trash talking for the last thirty percent of the book.  Did I love it? Yes! Please, Trotters, go read this book!! And then go read all the rest of her books! She is a fantastic writer. Her stories have substance!!! Aren't you tired of reading the same 'ol crap? The literary world should not be an assembly line. It's writer's like LH, who are shattering the mold, that make me believe that even though the publish button is readily available to anyone, it doesn't mean that great stories are being lost in the excess.

This was my first L.H. Cosway novel. ★¸¸.•*¨*•★Minor spoilers alert!!!★•*¨*•.¸¸★ Writing style: Mainly 1st person POV Cover and chapter design: the cover certainly hints at intrigue with the smoky lighting. I would have liked to have seen Jay’s Six of Hearts tattoo though because of the great symbolism we learn it has. I loved the blue chapter title heading and font style in the e-book format. Dual formats read (e-book and audiobook) – Yes or No?: Yes! Read count: 1.25 times •*¨*• I loved that Jay and Matilda shared a house for a brief time while Jay set the final things in motion for his revenge plan. I also loved how tempted they were by each other's presence. One of the most memorable moments of Six of Hearts was when Jay proved he was better than Jessica at a certain sexual skill was very memorable. ;) •*¨*•What I liked about the lead characters:•*¨*• ★Matilda★ – I related to her awkward online dating results to the nth degree. ★Jay★ – I hated, hated that he smoked cancer sticks, eww! But I liked how cool his illusionist skills were and how he got his revenge on those stupid, greedy and evil people who caused his family’s death. •*¨*•What I liked about the supporting characters:•*¨*• ★Matilda's dad★ - His honesty as a solicitor was refreshing, and I loved his reaction when Matilda finally told him she and Jay were dating, ha! ★Jessica★ – Jay’s assistant and friend. OMG! She was so frank at times. The ‘who’s better at cunnilingus’ scene was to die for, so very funny! ★Michelle★ – Matilda’s buddy. I liked that she had no qualms about her bisexuality and that Jay sussed out her attraction to Jessica immediately, ha! •*¨*• ‘This feels too good to last.’ ~Matilda ★ But last it does thanks to Jay well executed revenge plan. Bravo, sir! I’ll just pretend Jay give up his cancer sticks sooner than later so he and Matilda have their fictional HEA for years and years.

Full of mystery, passion, magic, and love. A great tale unfolds. Matilda and Jay form an unlikely friendship that turns to more. Matilda trusts Jay even though he withholds his secrets. The magic throughout the story is intriguing and makes you think. The passion between the characters is consuming and the mystery sucks you in. Highly entertaining and an awesome read.

OMG. This was a completely AMAZING read. I am still totally blown away. I don't ordinarily read a lot of books set in Ireland, even though I'm Irish, and this is the second one I've read recently. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I especially loved all the brilliant observations and Irish sayings and cultural references (like the one about taxi drivers either being ignorant or total jaws. Lol.) The romance is sweet, and slow-building, with lots of smexy times, and plenty of angsty to-ing and froing (which I always love even though it's torture.) The plot is good but it's transparent, so don't expect tons of twists and turns. The author makes it very clear to the reader who Jay really is and what Matilda means to him and that he is out for revenge. But the beauty of this book is in the superb execution. And I love that Jay is an illusionist, and I loved the glimpses we got into his life. Different. Unique. Stand-out. (I'd still love to know how he pulled some of the illusions off though.) I could waffle on forever but it would get boring, so I'm going to list what I liked most: Jay The beautiful writing Jay The well-developed plot that was masterfully woven Jay Consistent pacing Jay The romance Jay The hilarious witty banter Jay Great secondary characters Jay Ah, Jay, swoon. He is everything you could hope for in a book boyfriend and more. And the lengths he went to to seek vengeance on those who had wronged him and Matilda's family! I cried with Matilda when she found out. And then he said he had loved her since he was a kid and I cried some more. Be still my beating heart. Ha. Ha. I'm just picturing the scowl on my husband's face when he reads this review. Sorry, hon. Please remember - he is only a FICTIONAL boyfriend and that's totally not cheating. All in all, this was a totally dreamy read. Can't wait to devour the rest of the books in this series. I have to thank the lovely Dali for gifting me a copy of this book. You were right, Dali! You knew I would adore L.H. Cosway's writing, and I do! Thanks for connecting me with another author I enjoy.

I'm normally not into romance novels, but I'll read anything from L.H. Cosway. It all started with Painted Faces, which was amazing as well. I love how the 2 main characters don't immediately fall in loooooove (which is bull $hit anyways). They gradually fall in love like normal. I love how the main character is so easy to relate to (maybe because we're a lot alike...?) ;) READ ALL OF THEM!

Well-written, fast-paced and very romantic. This is my first by this author; however, it will not be the last.

I went into this book blind. I didn't even read the blurb. I had a couple of book friends say it was a top read for them so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm super glad that I did. Immediately I knew the female lead was my kinda girl. Often I like the guy but not the chick. For awhile during this story, I was more about her than him. She's just so everyday in a realistic way, someone I could picture friending in real life. It didn't take long for me to fall for him too. He's just very on about everything, extremely manly without being over the top. The magic scenes were extra cool. Before reading this book, I never though of illusionists as being mega sexy. The meeting back up with a person from your past has been done before, but the mixing of his profession, her profession and a foreign setting meshed quite well to make the story unique. Also, I really like the writing voice. I'll definitely be reading more from this author.

L.H. Cosway is one talented writer. I've read a number of her books and I'm always impressed when I finish them. Six of Hearts is no different in that regard. I really enjoyed reading this book. Jay stole my heart from the very moment I met him and Matilda too. It was impossible not to love these two. I think what impressed me most was how Jay and Matilda's story was part of a larger one. The two were interwoven so seamlessly it was hard to tell where one started and the other began. It was captivating, exhilarating, and beautifully done. Jay and Matilda were wonderful together. I loved seeing the two of them interact. While Matilda was an open book, Jay was a complete mystery. None of his motives were clear in the beginning. I wasn't sure if he was friend or foe to Matilda and her father. The relationship between Matilda and Jay was a slow burn and I absolutely loved that. I must say this story was gripping. There were so many twists and turns. Just when I thought I had the story all figure out, something would happen and I'd be at a loss again. I can definitely say I loved it. There were some moments that were hard to read. I'm an emotional reader and it was really easy for me to tap into what Matilda and Jay were feeling at times. L.H. Cosway writes stories that entertain and cause you to think. She plays a good kind of mind game; one that often leaves you stupefied and wanting more. I loved the detail she put into Jay's tricks. Every aspect of this book felt authentic and extensively researched. I can't tell you how excited I am about having two more books to read featuring characters that may or may not be featured in this book.

I loved every minute of this book. STUNNING! If you are looking for something fresh, alive with intrigue and mystery, and just overall an incredibly well written and fantastic book, then this book right here is your next stop! I had never heard of LH Cosway before but this book was getting some major buzz on social media and I decided, what they heck? I can read this one. The synopsis was intriguing and I was hooked form the first sentence. There is passion, mystery, magic, and illusion. Everything you want from a book is found between these covers. It is written in a way that you will remember these characters, the twists and turns, and the story long after you finish the last page. The misdirection and storyline that you dive into in Six of Hearts is enough to leave you breathless. Those two things coupled with an fresh set of characters that are well developed, a writing style that is beautiful and deep, and themes that will surprise you... well you are in for a treat. This book surprised me and put LH Cosway on the radar. She is fresh and exciting, an author to keep an eye on.  Six of Hearts is a book defined by mystery and passion. Every time I felt like I understood what was happening or where the story was going, I fell prey to the red herring and had to start my sleuthing all over again. It is rare for books to truly catch readers off guard these days but LH takes everything readers want and created a book that will leave us salivating for more. I want more and NEED more. The story was so well done that I am satisfied with what happened but I want more of these characters and more of LH's writing. You can bet that I will be one clicking her books and exploring her brilliant mind through her writing.

This was the second book I've read by Cosway and I think I have a new favorite author! Matilda is a full character, not needing to glom onto a man but waiting for epic love. I really appeciated that and it made the romance so much fun to read. Jay was easy to fall for, but held many secrets. Couldn't put this book down. About to purchase another Cosway, but will wait to read it until I can set aside a good afternoon for it!

When I choose a book, the cover is often something that draws me in. The pose and the title didn't seem to mesh- it peaked my curiosity. It was a wonderful story of under dogs and getting justice. The love and chemistry is the cherry on top. Off to find other books by this author.
