About the Author

Sue Fliess is the award-winning, bestselling author of more than fifty children's books including Cicada Symphony, The Earth Gives More, and the Kid Scientist series. Her books have been named to notable lists and translated into multiple languages. Sue lives in Northern Virginia.



Ann Marie Stephens is the author of numerous picture books including the Arithmechicks and A Catastrophe Tale series. An award-winning elementary teacher with over thirty years’ experience, she is now retired and living in Virginia. Ann Marie’s poetry and literacy work has been featured in Bon Appetit and on NPR radio.

Alexandra Colombo has illustrated more than two hundred books in countries around the world, including the United States, Italy, Spain, England, Australia, and Israel. She loves walking in nature, and she loves animals, especially her dogs Kay, Ubi, and Ary. She and her dogs work with a rescue unit, searching for missing persons in the woods and after natural disasters. She lives in Milan, Italy.
