About the Author

Jay Bell never gave much thought to Germany until he met a handsome foreign exchange student. At that moment, beer and pretzels became the most important thing in the world. After moving to Germany and getting married, Jay found himself desperate to communicate the feelings of love and alienation that surrounded this decision. He's been mashing laptop keyboards ever since.

Jay is a Lambda Literary Award winner and a fairly bad dancer. He also thinks that you're really cool. Seriously.

Jay Bell is an incredible storyteller, and it never fails to amaze me with how real his characters seem. Nathaniel is a very relatable and it is impossible to not support him and want him to overcome his struggles in the end. Highly recommend this book and all others in the Something Like series!

Another Fantastic Story By Jay Bell!!! Something Like Thunder is another five star read by the amazing Jay Bell. This is the sixth book in the Something Like series where we learn more about Nathaniel Courtney. It was interesting to read what Nathaniel had been through, and to visit some characters from the previous books. As always, Jay does a stupendous job letting us get to know his MC, making us understand him and root for him. I wanted to hug Nathaniel and make it better, even at the times when he was his own worst enemy.  This book is well written with emotion, humor, love, angst, and a lovable dog. The tie ins with previous books are just ingenious! I highly recommend the entire Something Like series. Jay's characters are so well developed, you will make friends with them and come back and reread the books just to visit with your old friends. If you have not yet started this series, you should download a sample and get started. You will get hooked!
