About the Author

Colorado Music Hall of Famer, Rick Roberts is a 40-year veteran of the rock'n'roll wars. He began his recording career in 1970 with the Flying Burrito Brothers and was a major contributor to their last two albums. He went on to do two solo albums, and then formed the well-known band, Firefall, in 1974, with whom he played for seven years during their heyday. He has also been a member of Stephen Stills' band and Linda Ronstadt's band during his career, and has been awarded two platinum and four gold albums for his efforts.
He has had over 60 of his compositions recorded and performed by such artists as The Burritos, Firefall, Stephen Stills, Linda Ronstadt, Barry Manilow, The Dirt Band, and numerous others. He is the composer of the hit songs "Just Remember I Love You", "You Are the Woman", "Strange Way", "Colorado", and several more that graced the Top 40 at one time or another.
After suffering a debilitating brain injury in 2006 which left him in jeopardy of never walking again, it took him nearly four years of intense physical therapy to walk again without crutches or other aids. Rick currently lives and works in Longmont, Colorado with his wife, Mary, and their two dogs and two cats.

Song Stories and other Left-Handed Recollections exceeded my expectations. Rick Roberts music has long had an impact on my life. Long time favorite to this Colorado native, Ricks "Colorado" brings chills and tears to my eyes whenever I'm away from home. I really enjoyed the stories and history of the many songs I have considered my "favorites over the years. Thank you for writing a great book, Rick!

I was absolutely knocked out. The Songs and the stories are from a place that was offered as a gift and this song writer had the courage to share his personal experiences with the world. I hope Rick keeps writing I not only love his music but his analytical writing is also a gift. I would read just about any book Rick publishes. Thank you, for the excellent read!

I had the honor of reading this book as Rick was writing it; so now having read it in its printed version, I was even more enthralled as I turned each page!  What a wonderful walk down Rick’s memory lane!  And honestly, who does not love a little dirt on those who are rich and/or famous!  Rick’s uncanny writing ability, as known through his amazing songs, strike a chord within his written word that will find you anxious to turn the page to see where his journey goes next!  Recently having watched the History of the Eagles for the millionth time, I love to see the correlation between their own story and Rick’s path and the crossing of the two!  Not to mention so many other well-known artists with whom Rick has known, played a little music with and now, shared with us.  Rick’s personal struggle with all that comes from being involved in the Rock & Roll era that has claimed our lives forever, to the fall that almost took his life, will find you spellbound and hell-bound to get to the end.  Here’s to you, you wonderful man, to your history, your gifts, your amazing ability to put thought on paper and to bring us into your life and to your talent, your sweet spirit and to your well-deserved success.  You have a ‘Strange Way’ about you but have the ability to make every woman wish she was the one you had always dreamed of on your way to “Colorado”!  A wonderful, wonderful book!  I look forward to the book signing!  And Ricky, “Just Remember I love you”!
