About the Author

Krista Gawronski has never really taken “No” for an answer. She has turned the words “Why can’t I” into some personal motivation for her life. Krista grew up in a big family in the Sunset District of San Francisco and fell in love with her big brothers’ best friend, Paul Gawronski. Together they lead a joyful life in Petaluma, Ca. They have a successful sandwich shop named Mr. Pickles, and they are raising two sons, Frank and Vince.

Krista grew up watching Oprah Winfrey. Her admiration for powerful women led to the discovery of leadership and philanthropy. She became the founder of The Fabulous Women of Sonoma County. This is a group she started in her living room in 2005 which has since formalized into a nonprofit. The heartbeat of the group comes from a small board of seven kind women. This is a brave organization which is committed to helping families with extraordinary hardship and improving the world through mean-ingful causes.

Krista poured her heart into this group, and it quickly grew from 30 women to several thousand people. Her grassroots mission has led to substantial contributions for her community. Service remains Krista’s greatest passion. Her quest to improve the vibration of love in the world continues. It actually opened the door to another calling: writing and speaking.

Krista documented the birth of the Fabulous Women in her first book, Soul Purpose, the story of a girl who found her life’s meaning through community service. She was vulnerable enough to share her fears and brave enough to bare her soul. Be Good called her back to the writer’s chair, becoming the foundation for her next crusade: speaking about compassion and humanity on larger stages. Krista is continuing her mission to study human behavior, and is incorporating her mind-body-spirit studies into her presentations. Krista has motivated students, church groups, nonprofits, corporate teams, and circles of women to follow their hearts and explore their passion for giving back to the world.

Krista has a realness about her. Her approach to spirituality and charity resonates with people. She can relate to the modern day woman who is juggling laundry and grocery shopping but still wants to feel spiritually fulfilled. Her ability to speak the truth about the human condition gives her a warm and soulful aura. In addition to supporting The Fabulous Women, Krista has started a female circle called “Dare to Shine.” This group meets monthly for life topics and friendship. Krista is blessed with “The Good Life.” She has two dogs, a big family to lean on, and a wonderful sister-hood that inspires her daily. It is enough to fill her soul and dwell in gratitude.

A book that exemplifies spreading, and living with, joy, kindness, love, generosity and authenticity; perfect timing in this world that could use all of these more than ever. This book deeply resonates with me and makes my heart soar. I love how the chapters weave together various stories of life challenge AND grace, and shows how there are always gifts, blessings and valuable life lessons to be revealed, even in difficult times. It is now my favorite gift idea to give to special friends and family!

It is refreshing to read a book that is so honest and insightful. Krista has a sincere way of presenting ideas that allow the reader the opportunity to take the lessons and think about the connections in your own life. I curled up on the couch and read the whole book at once because I couldn't put it down... I love her chapter titles... the way her life stories wove together to share a lesson of inspiration. It is clear that she has done much self reflection that has lead to her to her calling. I really loved it! If you want to read a book that is authentic, engaging and gives you examples that make you think about your own purpose, this is a great read! Left me thinking about my own next steps.

What a gift! This book is a treasure of insight and compassion; truth and humanity; inspiration and motivation. The message that Krista shares of generosity, kindness and charity makes me want to be a better person, not just in my community, but in the world. The vulnerability that the author exhibits makes this message so relatable and clear, it resonates in the soul. This book is a must read for all! "Soul Purpose" offers a tangible understanding of being charitable and kindhearted. In a world where people are so divided, this book reminds us that we are all individuals just doing the best we can with what we've got. Krista's premise that we can make the world a better place one act-of-kindness at a time, is certainly one we should all take to heart!

This book is the result of hard work and love. Krista makes the concept of charity seem simple and fun. While most people think about getting out in the world and making a difference, Krista has actually given her community a vehicle for kindness. This book makes you realize that community still means something and we can all serve compassionately. Soul Purpose makes you look at life in a whole new way. We all have the ability to contribute our time and energy toward meaningful causes. The question raised by this book is not whether kindness matters but how will you give something back to the world.
