I enjoy a good friends to lovers book and this one fit the bill. Sawyer and Gabi were best friends, but Gabi had to take a fresh start. Now fate has reunited these two. Can Gabi convince Sawyer it's worth the risk of falling in love? This is the fourth book in the series. If you haven't read this series yet you're missing out! I liked Sawyer and Gabi because they have a lot of history and their friendship adds so much to the book. Though there were a few times I wanted to knock some sense into Sawyer. I'm eagerly anticipating the fifth and final book. It looks like it's going to be a good one!

Sawyer has been Emmy's best friend back in college. They met in the most weird circumstances, but they hit it off. It didn't take long for Emmy to fall in love with him. Problem is that, Sawyer would do any girl but her. She's invisible to him. She's his buddy. So, what she did after graduation was to move far away from him without telling him. Years later, she was back in Chicago. Someone needed her. Running into Sawyer was last thing in her mind, but fate has other plans and Chicago is so small they just have to bump into each other. The man can still take her breathe away. But no way she was going to sit there and wait for him to notice her, she'd do something this time, and make him see what he's been missing. But what happens when Sawyer is not ready for a relationship? I enjoyed reading it! I like Emmy - her determination, her love for her mom, and her unwillingness to settle for less than what she deserves. Sawyer is oblivious, and it is half-funny, half frustrating. I love how easy they go back to friendship, and how smooth the transition was - until Sawyer decided to screw it up (lol). But he did redeem himself at the end, and boy, he was good. Sometimes, you look for love in far away places and you rarely notice that it is just right there beside you. I am just glad Sawyer finally noticed it before it was gone. Yay! Soulmate is fun, sweet, sexy and undeniably good. I can't wait for Dante's story!!!!

Soulmate by Katie McCoy is the fourth book in her Rascals series. Told in dual POV between Sawyer (Who you would have met previously in the series) and Gabi, his college best friend and the girl with the unacknowledged, unrequited crush. Well-written and well-paced this book is funny, emotional and sexy. After five years away, Gabi is back in Chicago, having left to escape her best friend who was completely unaware of her feelings for him. But she is back and ready to build a new life back in her home town. When a near death experience ends with her in none other than Sawyers arms she feels like maybe the universe if having fun with her at her expense. Sawyer lost his best friend years ago when she moved away after graduation and ghosted him. Now that she is back he is experiencing all kinds of feelings towards her that are far outside the spectrum of BEST FRIEND. Determined to not ruin the best friendship he's ever had with the one person he knows he can't live without Sawyer is fighting all the feelings towards Gabi, even if it is making him a sullen and moody person to be around. Quirky and funny and very, very sexy - I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: ARC received in exchange for an honest review Rascals Bar co-owner Sawyer gets the book boyfriend treatment in Soulmate, Katie McCoy’s fourth entry in the Rascals series. This second-chance romance reunites Sawyer and college gal-pal Gabi and chronicles their journey to happily ever after. Previously ghosted by Gabi following a significant college friendship, Sawyer is committed to rekindling their friendship when he bumps into her at a busy Chicago intersection. Gabi is less sure about picking up where she and Sawyer left off, though. Her feelings for Sawyer had gone unrequited for years, and this was catalyst for both her post-college disappearing act and her current hesitation. Once on board with a reunion, the relationship between Sawyer and Gabi quickly escalates from friends to friends-with-benefits to two people with conflicting emotions at odds with each other. Gabi is convinced that suppressing her emotions and avoiding any talk of a committed relationship is the best way to counteract Sawyer’s resistance. She agrees to a casual relationship in hopes that her patience will be rewarded. Unfortunately, in the process, Gabi tends to be borderline manipulative, which as a reader, I found to be somewhat off-putting. Obviously, Gabi and Sawyer get their happy ending after some heartache and strife separates them. Sawyer comes to understand that love is not the impetus for heartbreak and unhappiness, as he once mistakenly believed. He realizes how much he wants to share his life with Gabi and how important a role she plays in his life—how she enhances his joy and contributes to everything he does. Soulmate has a fairly predictable plot, and much like its predecessors in the series, is formulaic in its execution. But, in spite of that, it’s still a highly successful and extremely enjoyable romance romp. Katie McCoy has a tendency to create some of the most charming book boyfriends, and Sawyer is no exception. Ultimately, Soulmate is another solid installment in the Rascals series.

Rascal was a fun and hot read! I was excited to start exploring Sawyer's story and was super excited that it was going to be with Gabi......FINALLY! I loved the story plot, the twists, and the bit of drama we get. The heat factor is never a problem. I love the Rascal series since I have been hooked on these books from the get go! I still am swooning here hours after I reached the end

Fun, steamy and a absolute delight! This is book four of this series and although you could read it as a standalone I recommend reading them all and in order for a complete picture, total understanding of all the characters and their relationships to each other and to deepen your reading pleasure. This book is about Sawyer and Gabi. It is a friends to lovers story and it is packed with emotional turmoil, anxiety, drama, simmering chemistry, angst passion and love. Sawyer is charming, frustrating, sexy, a bit of a man ho and totally clueless when it comes to poor Gabi. Gabi is feisty, smart, determined and capable. She was smart enough to try to distance herself from the heartache that is Sawyer but sometimes fate has a plan and it will have its way regardless of what you do. I really liked these two together. I felt so much for Gabi and honestly wanted to ask Sawyer if he was ever going to wake up, man up and grab the treasure that was right there waiting for him forever. Really looking forward to book five. I am voluntarily posting a truthful review.

One of my all time favorite authors' does it again!!! It's fall in love time again for the men of Rascals. Swooning for this couple. Sawyer is the biggest playboy of the group. So seeing him fall, is so glorious. Gabi and Sawyer used to be best friends in college. Several years have gone by, with her being back in town, he wants to start their friendship up again. Gabi has other plans though because she has been madly in love with Sawyer for years. This is a breeze to get lost in. Every character plays a huge part of the story and they make you fall in love with every page. Highly recommend this novel to all romance lovers!

Loved seeing how this book played out but boy what a ride. If you are looking for a book that will have your emotions doing a 180 from one chapter to the next then this book is for you. You will feel completely invested in Gabi and Sawyer's story. Katie McCoy does such a great job with her writing that you feel as if it is all happening to you. I would get so frustrated with Sawyer and the things he'd pull but at the same time with Gabi for expecting something else. At the same time though I understand because I was filled with hope the same as she was. This book was another great addition to the Rascal's crew and I just know that Dante's story will be off the charts!!

We’re on the home straight now with SoulMate by Katie McCoy which is book four of five of the ‘Rascals’ series and it just keeps getting better and better! It’s Sawyer’s turn to find love at the bar and it’s not with an old fling, but a girl he was once best friends with in college. Gabi was the one girl he could always talk to and trust, but then after graduation she just left town and he never saw or heard from her again. Gabi fell for Sawyer almost from the moment they met, it might have been lust at first, but since she’s returned to Chicago and met up with him again, all those feelings have morphed into something more. Only trouble is… she can’t tell commitment-phobe Sawyer, just like she couldn’t tell him how she felt when they were in college. She knew what would happen. Sawyer can’t believe he’s got his best friend back, but he’s worried because he’s not feeling remotely ‘friendly’ towards Gabi anymore and try as he might to fight the desire surging through his veins, it’s futile. But, can he realize what he’s truly feeling before he makes a mistake they can’t step back from?? Aaah, this book was so much fun to read, I just couldn’t put it down. I loved Sawyer, even if he was so clueless of Gabi’s feelings for him. Thankfully he got his head on straight in time. This story has upped the ante for Haley and Dante’s book and I sooo can’t wait. The best is definitely going to be kept for the last. Mark my words!

Soulmate by Katie Mccoy is the fourth book in her absolutely addictive Rascals series. I have loved following the love exploits of the five college buddies who opened up a neighborhood bar called Rascals. In Soulmate, readers get Sawyer’s story. Sawyer is the strong, quiet, furniture builder who is a total commitment phobe. Gabi, who has just moved back to Chicago, is one of Sawyer’s best friends. She is Sawyer’s only female friend. However, upon her return, Sawyer struggles with the fact that his best mate is now super sexy. How will the self-proclaimed king of the one-night stand keep his distance and maintain their friendship? I really enjoyed both Sawyer and Gabi even though I felt that Sawyer needed a brick wall to fall on his head and Gabi needed to make Sawyer work a bit harder to gain her forgiveness. They’re perfect together, and miserable apart. I really appreciated Gabi’s successful career transition storyline in addition to the romance. Soulmate is a delightful friends-to-lovers romance with a few nice twists and a slew of great characters. As with the other books in the series, Soulmate can be read as a standalone novel. I enjoyed Gabi and Sawyer as a couple.

Rascals Book 5 I am so enjoying this series! Each book can be read as a stand-alone. Soulmate is the story of Gabrielle and Sawyer. Best friends, and for Gabrielle, unrequited love. So when the opportunity arose for her to escape watching Sawyer go from girl to girl. She jumped on the opportunity. Flash forward five years and Gabi is back in Chicago. Fate intervenes. Sawyer has missed her and wants what they had back in college. He wants his best friend back. Gabi wants more! Gabi is a fantastic character! She isn't afraid to use everything in her personal arsenal to show Sawyer what a more than friendship they can be. She is brave in open and honesty with Sawyer. Sawyer as a twisted sense of what love is. He sees it as a thing that destroys and hurts. And even though the sexual chemistry between Gabi and Sawyer is off the charts hot. He continues to believe that his relationship with Gabi is a true friends with benefits relationship. And he thinks he is happy with that. It was great reading familiar secondary characters from the previous books in the series. But they don't overwhelm and take away from the main story, they only add more! I am so looking forward to the next book in this series!!

While reading this story I loved Sawyer, I really did. But his excuses to put a label to what was happening between him and Gaby was frustrating as hell. At one point I was rooting for Gaby to tell him to take a hike and just moves on. Buuuut then his “AHA” moment came and when he »helps« the young couple at the bar my faith in him was restored. As for Gaby; I absolutely love her. I liked how she chooses to want more for herself when she first left town. I loved how she fought for their relationship even when she knew Sawyer would need time and a little push to »catch up« with her. I love this series so far and now I’m so happy to know Dante is next in line to find his HEA with a feisty woman like all his friends have done. I don't know why but i have a feeling that Katie McCoy is saving best for last. ***Review copy requested and reviewed on behalf of OMGReads Blog***
