Have you ever looked at a painting and wondered what the world inside it was like? Sower of Dreams is what I'd imagine one of those worlds would be like. The world of Seagem is richly described, gorgeously layered, and troubled when their sea god no longer speaks to them in their dreams. Princess Daria is both warrior and seer, a woman who knows her own mind. She dreams of a man so different from any she knows. Khan is a man from our world who is on the run for his life. He takes refuge from a sandstorm and is transported to another world, one where the sky is purple and a beautiful princess needs his help. This fantasy world is beautifully written, every sense described so that you feel transported into the world and its many adventures.

Anonymous 1-star, you are an idiot! Not only is this author known for her good reputation, if you check her Facebook page you'll see the book was written well before A. Norton's death, but only recently self-published.

While this is not my preferred genre, I am glad that I gave it a try. Sower of Dreams is a very creative and unique piece of fiction. My attention was hooked when the Hero and Heroine, from different worlds, met in their dreams. The portals between worlds and the free-will offered by the goddess was a very interesting twist.  By the end, I really wanted to find out what happened to Daria's kidnapped brother and missing sea god. Thankfully I will get my answers in the next two books in the series!  The only reason, I didn't give the full 5 star rating is because there was one part that I found disturbing but I do understand the need for the event to occur....

With Sower of Dreams, Debra Holland proves there is more to her than sweet romances (not that there's anything wrong with that!) "Dr. Debra" Holland has long been my peer editor and it was a pleasure to see the chapters of this book as she composed it. In the tradition of Andre Norton's Witch World, a human on the run looking to escape accusations and hitmen he can't defend himself from, finds a portal to another realm. Meanwhile, the princess in that other realm runs for her life, fleeing the jilted suitor who's destroyed her home and has unsavory plans for her future. If you have fond memories of the swashbuckling fantasy adventure (and yes, some romance, but that's okay :) ) of the Witch World series, you will love this book. Or put another way: I loved this book. Loved it, loved it, loved it. R.J. Sullivan Author of Haunting Blue

I love books that mix a real-world sensibility with elements of fantasy or science fiction, and I found them here with several original twists. Debra Holland brings together a warrior princess in a desperate fight for her life and a modern-day hero who's fleeing his murderous half-brother. Under two moons, they meet with passion, inner strength and a sixth sense that adds yet another dimension to their world. Plus there are a couple of adorable monkey-bats that I wish I could take home with me. I can't wait to read the sequel!

Sometimes you just know when you read the opening lines of a new story that it's going to fit you just perfectly. That was the case with SOWER OF DREAMS, Book 1 in a new fantasy series by Debra Holland. It hit all the right notes for me, and kept resonating after I put it down. The ease with which I slipped into this world is a credit to the author. And she did a fantastic job setting up the next book, which is already on my Kindle.

I've been a big fan of Debra Holland for quite a while now. Sower of Dreams, book 1 of the Gods' Dream Trilogy, took off from page 1 and didn't slow down. I was quickly drawn in to Holland's fantasy world and was amazed at the author's ability to make me believe that this world exists. The characters are well developed and the story left me wanting more. Well done!

Some adult situations. Would not reccommend for teenagers due to these. Excellant for the rest of us though. Tastefully done.
