Even though I received an advanced copy from the author, I always purchase her books. Even though the Femme Domme genre is really not my cup of tea, it is this author's fantastic storytelling that made me want to read this book and I was not disappointed. Thomas is the epitome of a good guy - loving, morally just, caring, respectful of women, etc. and he tracks down and falls for the Angel that saved him from a deranged shooter. Candor's life is well ordered and she likes to be in control at all times. Candor knows that caring and loving bring heartache and pain but she ever so slowly (and I mean snail slow not tortoise slow) realizes that she is changing. There were times in the book where I just wanted to smack Candor upside the head to knock some sense into her and hopefully, make her realize what she was doing to Thomas and herself by continually denying that she felt anything. The scenes are steaming but not over the top caricatures and all the play is private (no clubs). If you are not into the genre or scenes, they are easily skipped over and nothing is lost in this great story. As usual, I was left wanting more. I really love when an author includes an epilogue and sadly there isn't one in this book but on the bright side - the story is left open in case the author wants to bring these characters back :)
